We have our first goal of the game and it is of the truly bizzare fashion!

Paul Conroy shoots for a point, and with Matthew Tierney crossing goalkeeper Shaun Patton's eye-line, the ball doesn't touch anybody, bounces and hits the roof of the net!

The big challenge really is how quickly can Donegal get back to double up, particularly with the likes of Walsh or Comer get on the ball.

And then for Galway, it's how quickly we can get up the pitch and get the best return from our counters.

It's one of those games that needs an injection of something.

If it's a goal, a big hit, a big tackle or a turnover. It just hasn't got that energy yet.

It's kind of tit for tat.

What's really interesting about Galway is that they are always moving.

When a team becomes static because there is a mass defence you are falling into their energy.

Galway's movement off the ball has been fantastic.

  10. Galway going direct when opportunity arisespublished at 16:17 British Summer Time 14 July

Galway are opting to go direct when the opportunity arises but it isn't always working with Rob Finnerty dropping a shot short after being found by Damien Comer. Donegal are adopting a more typical short-passing approach but the ball is still being moved quickly and it makes for an interesting clash of styles.

We speak so much about Walsh and Comer, but this guy Finnerty has got jets as well. Lovely kind of technical left foot.

Yeah, it's been an interesting start, but there is obvious things happening here.

Donegal, are not really set on Galway's kick-out and they (Galway) are transitioning really quick which is causing Donegal hassle.

At the other end, Galway are holding their three forwards up.

Donegal are really going to have to look at that when they set-up on the kick-out.

They are not in their defensive shape and Galway are transitioning so fast, they can't get bodies back.

So they must look at holding players back around the midfield area.
