  1. Norris wins in Monaco to narrow gap to Piastripublished at 17:05 British Summer Time 25 May

McLaren's Lando Norris won the Monaco Grand Prix for the first time with a copybook drive, controlling the race from start to finish.

Norris navigated the potential pitfalls of a new rule requiring drivers to use three sets of tyres during the race to lead throughout and beat Ferrari's Charles Leclerc for the Briton's second victory of the season.

McLaren's Oscar Piastri took third, well clear of Red Bull's Max Verstappen, with Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton a distant fifth.

Norris' victory cut Piastri's lead at the head of the championship to three points, with Verstappen dropping to 22 behind in third.

Monaco might have not been as chaotic and entertaining as the bosses would have hoped for with the mandatory two-stop race, but it certainly brought the usual glitz and glamour.

McLaren's Lando Norris won his first race in Monaco, meaning the drivers' title fight is very much on.

  3. Where to next?published at 17:02 British Summer Time 25 May

The F1 calendar is in full swing as we head to Barcelona next to round out the second triple-header of the season.

The Spanish Grand Prix will take place on 30 May-1 June at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

This will be the last race in Barcelona as the race will move to Madrid from 2026.

  4. 'I'm very disappointed with second' - Leclercpublished at 16:59 British Summer Time 25 May

Ferrari's Charles Leclerc speaking to Sky Sports after he finished in second in his home race: "I'm very disappointed with second. I've got to move on and today I think we did the best we could as well as yesterday.

"We are struggling with our performance, but it's been a weekend above all our expectations, this is what I'll keep in mind going forward instead of the frustrations of yesterday. Obviously, being home it means a lot and I wish I won, but Lando [Norris] did a better job and congrats to him."

On the car performing better than expected: "I think McLaren's biggest strength is their low speed performance and our biggest weakness is our low speed performance.

"There's something here that maybe I underestimated was the ride content and the fact it's a very bumpy track with a lot of curbs and our car behaves better with that probably better than the McLaren's, which probably helped close the gap for a track like this. Overall, I felt comfortable with car. I think we did a good job, considering the situation we are in as a team. I think 28 points is a good weekend for us."

  5. 'I was in the middle of nowhere' - Hamiltonpublished at 16:56 British Summer Time 25 May

Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton, who finished fifth in Monaco, on his 45-second gap from the front: "It just happens, nope [doesn't know why it happened].

On the two-stop strategy: "I can't comment on the rest of the race, for me I was in the middle of nowhere, started with a penalty, behind two cars and then I was in no-man's land, not really racing anyone. It was just pretty straightforward from then.

On the message 'push now, this is our race': "It wasn't very clear, the information wasn't very clear. I didn't know what it meant, 'this is our race'. I didn't know what I was fighting for. I wasn't near the guys up front. I was so far from them. At least we are going forwards."

It's all to play for in the drivers' title fight as the gap between leader Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris is now just three points.

Will McLaren have to step in and start prioritising a driver or will they let it get to the wire and play out itself?

  7. 'A great weekend for us' - Lawsonpublished at 16:47 British Summer Time 25 May

Racing Bulls Liam Lawson, who finished eighth: "It is really weird. I've never experienced something like it before, keeping the concentration.

"It's not often you have a chance to completely control the race and it works out perfectly. From our side, there was obviously doubts, but to have both cars in the points is very, very good.

"It is more of the guarantee to have one car [in the points], it makes a race between two or three cars in front and me and the backfield. It is a great weekend, for us. It is now using this going forward for us. Barcelona is going to be tricky with the wind."

On racing in Monaco: "It is one of those things, you're 1% off and you are so slow. Confidence here is everything. It is quite incredible what a car can do here. It has been very, very fun."

  8. 'P4 is definitely the maximum we could do' - Verstappenpublished at 16:43 British Summer Time 25 May

Red Bull's Max Verstappen speaking to Sky Sports after finishing the race in fourth: "You can't race here anyways, so it doesn't matter what you do, one stops or 10 stops. At the end, I was in the lead and my tyres were completely gone and you still can't pass I think nowadays with an F1 car - you can just about pass a Formula 2 car round here."

On him staying out: "There was nothing to lose. I had a big gap behind. I think I could've done four stops and still be in the same position. That's Monaco for you, qualifying is really important. Normally, when nothing bad happens you don't really move forward and if you just do normal pit stop then you just keep your position and that's exactly what happened today.

"I don't think we had the pace to fight the guys ahead because every time I tried to stay with them my tyres were wearing a bit too much. P4 is definitely the maximum we could do."

Home hero Charles Leclerc will have been hoping for a different outcome this weekend earning back-to-back race victories, but he will have to settle for second in his Ferrari.

His team-mate Lewis Hamilton started in P7 and crossed the finish line in fifth.

Not a bad day in the office for the team.

  10. 'It's something I don't like to do' - Sainzpublished at 16:34 British Summer Time 25 May

Williams' Carlos Sainz on playing the team game rather than focusing on his own race: "It's something I don't like to do. It's something I don't like seeing, unfortunately. Lawson did it first, which we didn't expect, it put us into panic mode and the only solution to finish both cars in the points was to do it to the rest of the field ourselves.

"Just a bit disappointed with the whole race, with the whole outcome of the weekend, it shows that the two stop is nothing around Monaco and people are still going to do what we did today. People are still going to manipulate the final result with the driving. We either come up with a solution or it will always be like this in Monaco.

"I don't know about the front but in the midfield it backfired, I think it made things even more manipulated to everyone to stop in two pit windows. I tried it, it didn't work. Good day in general for the team but I must say this is not the way I like to race or I dream about racing in Monaco."

  11. 'I couldn't be happier' - Brownpublished at 16:29 British Summer Time 25 May

McLaren CEO Zak Brown speaking to Sky Sports after both McLaren drivers were on the podium in Monaco: "What a great race, Charles [Leclerc] drove brilliantly, Max [Verstappen] was awesome and of course my two guys were. The strategy was great. It was an exciting race, a bit more exciting than I would have liked, but I'm sure it was good for TV.

"It was pretty much a perfect weekend. I couldn't be happier. It's a big day for points and it's exciting to win at Monaco, it's a big one."

On championship fight: "It feels pretty cool. I reminded Oscar [Piastri] that he's leading the championship. It's going to get fun in the second half of the year. They're up for it and I'm excited to see them race.

"I think he's [Lando Norris] focused and knows he has a great chance at the championship."

On the mandatory two pit stops: "The results look the same, but the stress on the pit wall and getting through traffic and having Charles and Max makes it much more exciting than the usual Monaco, even if the results on the timing sheet look the same."

After he won the race, the Brit said that winning in Monaco is a "dream".

  14. 'It's been a bit of a tricky weekend' - Piastripublished at 16:16 British Summer Time 25 May

McLaren's Oscar Piastri who finished third at the Monaco Grand Prix: "Yeah, obviously the win would have been better. It's been a bit of a tricky weekend, practice was messy all the way through, I felt like I got into qualifying with not a lot of confidence with how the weekend was going. I got close but not quite close enough. Qualifying is pretty much where you finish.

"Pretty happy with that overall, obviously some things to look at for when we come here next year but we got points on the board and another podium at Monaco, so it's not all bad.

"The margins are so fine. If this is a bad weekend, it's not going too badly at all. Some things to work on and we'll go again next week. Well done to Lando for a great weekend and well done to Charles for being as quick as usual."

  15. 'I wish I won' - Leclercpublished at 16:12 British Summer Time 25 May

Ferrari's Charles Leclerc finished his home race in second: "At the end of day, we lost the race yesterday, we should have done a better job, Lando [Norris] did a better job this weekend and he deserves the win.

"On my side, I achieved my childhood dream last year, not this year. I did not expect this, I thought being in the top 10 was going to be a challenge and in the end we are second. It's been a good weekend overall, but I wish I won."

On the mandatory two-stop strategies: "It was good from inside the car because before that it was a bit boring. I had to leave a gap to Lando otherwise I would have hit everything, when I saw that Max [Verstappen] was playing the long game I guess he was waiting for a red flag - that helped me put more pressure on Lando."

On his supporters: "As a Ferrari driver, we are very lucky we get support everywhere but being born here and seeing all the Monegasques behind me is something very special, it warms my heart to be at home and have so much support. I wish I could've given them the first place, but hopefully next year."

  16. 'I achieved one of my dreams' - Norrispublished at 16:09 British Summer Time 25 May

McLaren's Lando Norris who won the Monaco Grand Prix: "It feels amazing. It's a long, gruelling race, but good fun. We could push for quite a lot of the race. The last quarter, I was a little nervous with Charles behind and Max ahead, but we won in Monaco. It doesn't matter how you win, I guess. An amazing weekend, with pole, with today.

"This is what I dreamed of when I was a kid, so I achieved one of my dreams. I think it was you [Jenson Button], I saw you in front of my car before the start and I thought, if JB's here now, he's my good luck charm. Is 'Monaco, baby', yours? I apologise.

"The worst bit was the end. I felt quite under control the whole race but Max was ahead and was backing it up a little bit and I knew Charles had opportunity. I tried to back off Max so I could push when I needed to and chill when I needed to. I'm very happy, my team are very happy. Therefore we're going to have a wonderful night!"
