Well, for just a second time in their history, Armagh are the All-Ireland champions.

Another final, another incredible day on the Jones' Road.

You can read Matt Gault's report from Croke Park here.

The celebrations are sure to go on for the days (and weeks) ahead and we'll keep you up to date with all of it across BBC Sport NI.

I know Galway are in a similar boat but I felt as if our need was greater. I think Armagh played like that.

Our bench again was very strong and the big players stood up.

I don't know what it is about winning by a point but we love that.

The Armagh skipper is almost hoarse at the end of his speech as he pays tribute to the Armagh fans, but concludes by telling all in Croke Park to never give up.

This Armagh team didn't despite some crushing defeats in Ulster finals and All-Ireland quarter-finals over the past few years.

Those in orange at Croke Park are now belting out 'Boys from the County Armagh'.

We've soldiered for eight, nine, ten years. I think we deserve this. A lot of people wrote us off and said we couldn't do it.

We absolutely deserve it and Kieran deserves it."

    FT: Armagh 1-11 Galway 0-13

  9. 'I would like to praise Oisin Conaty'published at 17:20 British Summer Time 28 July

    FT: Armagh 1-11 Galway 0-13

    Ray Silke
Galway All-Ireland winner on BBC Sounds

When you're playing a team that's missing, every time they miss, you think 'wow, that's fantastic.'

I thought Galway would win today because I thought Damien Comer and Shane Walsh would be on it and be hard stopped.

Comer was taken off, Shane was a shadow of himself.

One man I would like to praise is Oisin Conaty, he scored three from play, all huge points.

GAA President Jarlath Burns is about to hand Sam over to his fellow Armagh man Aidan Forker.

You can hear the emotion in his voice as he makes a speech thanking all who contribute to the GAA.

Empathising with Galway's defeat as he and his county have suffered so many crushing disappointments over the years, but it is Armagh's day.

Joe McElroy speaking to BBC Sport NI: "We knew we had the good players to come on and finish strong. We went in at half-time level but we just knew we were going to win that game.

There was not a chance we were going to let that slip. The last three or four years has been penalties and heartbreak."

Really emotional scenes at Croke Park as Armagh celebrate wildly, in contrast to the devastation for Galway.

The Tribesmen came up short two years ago against Kerry and will be gutted again. They had their opportunities but lost their way with their shooting for a spell late in the game when they were pressing, which will haunt them.

Armagh's 22-year wait for a second All-Ireland title is over.

Who would have thought Armagh would be here two and a half months ago when they lost that dramatic Ulster decider against Donegal on penalties.

But Kieran McGeeney and his players believed and while they endured an incredibly nervous finish as Galway frantically chased an equaliser, the Orchard men held on.

GAA president Jarlath Burns has just planted a kiss on his son Jarly Og.

  16. McElroy with the game-winning blockpublished at 17:10 British Summer Time 28 July

    FT: Armagh 1-11 Galway 0-13

Joe McElroy with the late block on Paul Conroy sealed it, shades of Tyrone's Conor Gormley whose block broke Armagh hearts in 2003.

The Orchard County will have its first All-Ireland title since 2002 and just their second overall.

In the end, it was that Aaron McKay goal that proved the difference as it gave Armagh the lead for the first time and they stayed there.
