    Armagh 1-9 Galway 0-10 (47 mins)

What an impact from Stefan Campbell as he weaves in on the left. It seemed he was fisting for a point but the ball dropped and Aaron McKay read the situation perfectly to follow in and palm home. Armagh in front for the first time!

I was just thinking that Rian O'Neill was starting to look a little subdued and he then fires over an incredible point like that. The big Crossmaglen gave a big fist pump to the crowd after that one.

    Philly McMahon
Eight-time All-Ireland winner with Dublin on BBC Sport

Damien Comer and Shane Walsh are staying a bit deeper this half. That could be reserving energy but also key in pushing them back. You want to have an extra man back there.

Shane Walsh missed two frees in the first half but has announced his arrival in the second to edge Galway back ahead, but Tiernan Kelly squares it for a seventh time immediately after.

What a beauty from Rian O'Neill, curling that in to perfection from out on the right. Level once again!

Just like the first half, Paul Conroy is first to register in the second after a long period of Galway possession.

At the minute, I think both teams are playing not to lose. Somebody needs to go and play to win, that will make the difference.

After a seagull was the talking point of the first half, will we see goals in the second?

  13. Second half underwaypublished at 16:26 British Summer Time 28 July

    Armagh 0-6 Galway 0-6

The second half has begun at Croke Park. No changes from either at the break.

It was an extremely tight first half, but will things begin to open up? Let's find out.

  14. 'It's a game changer'published at 16:24 British Summer Time 28 July

    Owen Mulligan
Former Tyrone forward and All-Ireland winner on BBC Sport

Free-kicks in an All-Ireland final are so important. It's a game changer.

They need to get their act together and get the ball over the ball.

  15. 'Shane Walsh isn't playing well'published at 16:23 British Summer Time 28 July

    HT: Armagh 0-6 Galway 0-6

    Ray Silke
Galway All-Ireland winner on BBC Sounds

Finnerty going off I think was a big loss, that cost us points off the free.

Shane Walsh isn't playing well. Paul Conroy has been very impressive in midfield and has kicked two fine points.

Liam Silke, not because he's my nephew, has done a very good job on Rian O'Neill, just holding him.

I would like the second half to turn into a rip-roaring contest. I can't see that happening, but that's what I would like to happen.

  16. Walsh and Comer strugglingpublished at 16:21 British Summer Time 28 July

    Armagh 0-6 Galway 0-6

    John Haughey
BBC Sport NI at Croke Park

It's hard to believe Galway are going to win this game if Shane Walsh and Damien Comer continue to be so ineffective.

Barry McCambridge and Aidan Forker are conclusively winning their battles with Walsh and Comer so far but yet the sides remain level and Galway came good after a similarly misfiring first half against Donegal.

Walsh does appear to be still inhibited by injury with Comer also short of full fitness for much of this summer.

That the big plus for Armagh. The big negative for the Orchard men is the bad wides from Conor Turbitt and Joe McElroy which in a tight contest such as this, could end up proving crucial.

  17. 'Kieran McGeeney will be delighted'published at 16:17 British Summer Time 28 July

    Armagh 0-6 Galway 0-6

    Ray Silke
Galway All-Ireland winner on BBC Sounds

It was difficult for the supporters to really get in behind their teams and really go for it. A point or two here or there, it's been a very even game.

Kieran McGeeney will be delighted, if they're level with 15 minutes to come home and they can bring in Campbell and Burns and people like that, they're going to start to believe that it'll be Forker going up to collect it off Burnsy (Jarlath Burns, GAA President).

  18. They're just going round like the wipers of the carpublished at 16:16 British Summer Time 28 July

    Armagh 0-6 Galway 0-6

    Mickey Harte
Former Derry & Tyrone boss on BBC Sport

Galway are just playing the ball around in an area that Armagh are happy to have them. They're not penetrating at all, they aren't experimenting at all, they're not even mixing up what they're doing.

They're just going round like the wipers of the car so to speak.

  19. Level at the breakpublished at 16:09 British Summer Time 28 July

    Armagh 0-6 Galway 0-6

That's the half-time whistle and the teams go in locked on 0-6 apiece.

It's been as close as we anticipated with the teams level on five occasions, but Armagh are yet to get their noses in front.

Still, both managers will be relatively happy at this stage as they plan for the second period.

Level for a fifth time! Armagh win a free deep in their own half and get straight on the front foot with Ben Crealey landing his second of the day. We're into one minute of added time.
