  4. 'I think a 2-2 draw is probably a fair result'published at 18:39 British Summer Time 29 September 2024

    FT: Aston Villa 2-2 Tottenham

    Chloe Hudson-Jones
Ex-Leicester and Aston Villa defender on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Especially that second half, both teams were absolutely going for it, going for that win and both teams absolutely gave their all and they didn't give up.

The last goals for both teams happened because of the pressure they were putting on each other and not giving up on the ball.

I think Rach Daley went off thinking she'd won the game for her team and Villa could hang on but they just switched off for a moment and allowed Tottenham Hotspur to get beyond them and a great finish from Beth England.

After the whole game, after over one-hundred minutes, I think a 2-2 draw is probably a fair result.

    Aston Villa 2-2 Tottenham

She's in agony Beth England. I'm not sure what it was because she was holding her shin at one point.

Beth England is down and hurt. There's a lot of concern with her team-mates gathering around her immediately.

She's made of tough stuff and is back on her feet and hobbling towards the side of the pitch.

  8. 'Villa switched off'published at 18:26 British Summer Time 29 September 2024

    Aston Villa 2-2 Tottenham

    Chloe Hudson-Jones
Ex-Leicester and Aston Villa defender on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

I think Villa switched off for a second.

I think everyone thought from the Villa team it was gonna run out of play for a goal kick and snuck in just on the byline.

Great cross and great header from Beth England.

  9. 'Daley she loves the drama'published at 18:25 British Summer Time 29 September 2024

    Aston Villa 2-2 Tottenham

    Chloe Hudson-Jones
Ex-Leicester and Aston Villa defender on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Rach Daley, she loves the drama and she loves stepping up to the plate when there are high stakes and she's got the quality to score the goal for her team which hopefully for them will be the winner and it's what they deserve.

I think Villa overall have been the better team, they just haven't created enough in the final third.

    Beth England (95 mins)

Just as I said Tottenham have offered little to nothing going forward, up pops Beth England!

Just when her team needed her, England was there to drag her side level with a clever header at the near post. Brilliant stuff from the striker to surely save her side from defeat.

    Aston Villa 2-1 Tottenham

    Chloe Hudson-Jones

She [Rachel Daly] knows where the goal is, she knew what she had to do.

It wasn't about the pace on it, just get a little bit on it to lift it over Spencer's head and that's exactly what she did.

Great finish by Rach Daly - a true striker.

The captain to the rescue! You really feel for Becky Spencer, who looks in pain every time she moves and Rachel Daly capitalises on her lack of movement with a cheeky lofted header.

Aston Villa deserve the lead with all of the pushing forward they have done.

What a strike that was from Lucy Staniforth! A poor clearance from Maite Oroz falls perfectly 25-yards out and Staniforth decides to let one fly.

Luckily for Tottenham, it was straight at Becky Spencer.
