Katarina Johnson-Thompson clipped hurdles all the way down but she did ok.

The most important thing is to get points on the board and it's better to be safe than sorry.

Mucci absolutely annihilated her personal best. She was incredible and had a controlled aggression.

Katarina looks a little nervous. She shouldn't be complacent but she should easily win the heptathlon.

She needs to focus on each event. Kat isn't expected to win this race (100m hurdles) but it's good to start with a competitive race.

Robert Paxton won't be too concerned his chasing the game, don't forget he trailed world champion Shannon McIlroy in the group game a couple of days ago. Then he fought back from 14-9 down to win 21-18.

Now? He's taken the lead! A third end in the row, this time with a double that Paxton needs his tape measure to check, puts his nose in front for the first time.

In other news at Broadbeach Bowls Club... the DJ has gone all indie disco. Now playing: The Courteeners. Not Nineteen Forever is exactly what Paxton is hoping to avoid.

The World Indoor Championships was a turning point for Katarina.

Over the past two years she has had a bit of a rollercoaster and things have not gone her way. That has upset her confidence and made her ask if she can really cut it on the global stage. What she did in Birmingham will give her a lot of mental confidence.

She is the head and shoulders favourite but it is not easy. She is potentially 300 points better than her nearest rivals.
