There was contact between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris on their second round of fighting. Norris was on the grass at the first incident, with Verstappen gaining an advantage a few corners later. The stewards are looking at both these moments of drama.

And now Max Verstappen is under pressure from Lando Norris! The two battle again, a replay of Austin, and Norris ends up off the track. The pair rough house again and both end up going off, leaving the door wide open for Charles Leclerc to go second!

Here comes the fight from the Ferrari. Carlos Sainz sees his chance to pass the Red Bull with DRS. The Spaniard goes down the inside, slightly deep, but has the pace to pull away from Max Verstappen and take the lead of this Mexican race.

Oscar Piastri was a medium starter but the McLaren driver hasn't made up any places just yet. He's stuck down in P17 with the two Saubers of Zhou Guanyu and Valtteri Bottas ahead of him.

I don't think [Perez' penalty] that is that bad, he gained so many positions on the opening lap, he would have lost more than five seconds in probably one lap trying to overtake. The fact he's gained all those positions, I think you take that five seconds.

Max Verstappen is keeping ahead of Carlos Sainz, even though the Ferrari has that slipstream down to Turn One, and is now eight-tenths in front of the Spaniard as they cross the line for lap eight.

Charles Leclerc has got water bottle issues, and it sounds like the Ferrari driver is rapidly having to drink the spilling liquids, even when he doesn't want to, as he's zig zagging behind the safety car.

Red Bull are telling Sergio Perez he is under investigation. The Mexican isn't having it, saying it was "a great start". Lewis Hamilton also overtook team-mate George Russell in that chaotic lights out and is now up to fifth, with Russell dropping to sixth.
Liam Lawson is the only RB left, but at least he's up into the points in 10th spot.

It looks like Tsunoda's car is in a straight line, I think that Albon might have squeezed him on the edge of the track, going to the movers and shakers in the pack, it looks like Sergio Perez has made the best start out of everybody, he's made it five places up to P13.

The drama at the start has allowed Sergio Perez to climb up to 13th place. Nico Hulkenberg has also gained a couple of positions and is now in eighth spot.
The wheels of Yuki Tsunoda and Alex Albon clipped each other three times before the pair crashed out. Pierre Gasly was also involved, the Alpine moving left slightly into the path of Albon.
