Saturday is known as 'Moving Day' in golf and it has certainly felt like that in the Championship today.

In Division One, Essex and Somerset will fancy their chances of victory tomorrow, while Surrey seem ominously placed against Kent.

In the division below, Leicestershire, Gloucestershire and Northants are on top, but we could be in for a thriller at Lord's as Middlesex tussle with Yorkshire.

On an individual note, Harry Brook will realise that reputations can count for nothing as a golden duck at Lord's can attest.

Thanks for your company - hope you can join us tomorrow around 10:30 BST.

We should have some positive results, fingers crossed!

It might not be enough but has at least given Middlesex food for thought overnight, despite removing Harry Brook for a first-ball duck earlier in the day.

George Hill has made a disciplined 52 not out and a final-over boundary for Ben Coad off Tom Helm takes him to 38.

    Close: Kent 244 v Surrey 185-1

    Dan Whiting

A good day for the visitors and tomorrow they will be looking to build on that.

Kent will try to keep the runs dry and don't let them don't let them score too quickly.

At the moment Kent are not going to win the game from here but they can draw it and that will be their next plan.

  7. 'Lancashire have their backs to the wall'published at 19:08 British Summer Time 20 April

    Close: Essex 377 v Lancashire 146 & 10-1

    Glenn Speller
    BBC Essex sport

Another very good day for Essex made even better with the early wicket of Keaton Jennings. The one blemish is the dropping of Will Williams in the slips first ball.

But that will not dramatically change the outlook for the home side who know they will have to work hard for the remaining nine wickets but have the runs in the bank.

Lancashire have their backs to the wall.

  8. 'It's very much been the visitors' day'published at 19:08 British Summer Time 20 April

    Close: Worcestershire 184 v Durham 244 & 319-5

    Chris Williams

A good day's play here, we've seen plenty of runs.

We're all set tomorrow with the weather.

It's very much been the visitors' day.

Cameron Steel and Tom Lawes took three wickets each as they prevented Kent form earning any batting points, having resumed on 111-3.

And Rory Burns and Dom Sibley began their reply with an opening stand of 147 against an inexperienced home seam attack.

George Garrett, who made 48 as a nightwatchman earlier in the day, did get rid of Burns, but Sibley remains on 69.

  10. 300 up for Northantspublished at 19:07 British Summer Time 20 April

    Northants 302-2 v Glamorgan 271

The runs keep flowing for Northants as the 300 comes up as they gain a second batting point.

    Derbys 54-4 v Leics 574-7 dec

Derbyshire limp to the close despite a boundary by captain David Lloyd off Ben Green in the day's final over.

Lloyd has 40 not out but they are going to need something special from him if they are to get anywehere near to avoiding the follow-on.

Marcus Harris earlier made 214 for Leicestershire, who posted their second highest Championship total against the home side.

  12. Close of play at Hovepublished at 19:01 British Summer Time 20 April

    Sussex 267-5 v Glos 417

A single for Cheteshwar Pujara is the only addition in the final over of play at Hove.

The Indian finishes on 75 not out and represents Sussex's best hope to getting close to Gloucestershire's first-innings score, although the visitors will not underestimate the batting ability of partner John Simpson.

Gloucestershire added 98 to their overnight 319-8 with Zafar Gohar making 60, and he also picked up two wickets with successive balls in the final session to check Sussex's progress.

  13. 'Notts are favourites to probably lose inside three days'published at 18:58 British Summer Time 20 April

    Close: Somerset 454 v Notts 193 & 38-1

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

Again Somerset dominated the day, although Notts bowled pretty well this morning, they kept things nice and tight, kept a lid on things for most part.

They got rid of Sean Dickson but the end was kept up very nicely by the night-watchman Josh Davey.

Then as the day progressed Tom Banton had a little bit of a tricky start, played and missed a number of times but he got going with a lovely innings of 83 and 77 from Migael Pretorius, 95 not out from Craig Overton. That's going to get the job done.

Notts are still 223 behind and very much firm favourites to probably lose this inside three days unless they can show some resolve that we've not seen all that often down here at Taunton over the years.

Many matches over the years have followed a similar pattern, heading home after three days. Can Notts put a stop to that and have a really good day with the bat tomorrow?

  14. 50 runs

50 for George Hillpublished at 18:57 British Summer Time 20 April

    Middx 246 v Yorks 159 & 195-7

  15. Close of play at Chelmsfordpublished at 18:56 British Summer Time 20 April

    Essex 377 v Lancashire 146 & 10-1

Will Williams is left with the last five balls to survive from Jamie Porter and he does just that, with two from 31 balls so far.

He could have been caught first ball, he's been beaten a few times but he survives for tomorrow.

However, as Essex head off with a 221-run lead, they will be very happy and very confident of wrapping up victory tomorrow.

  16. Postpublished at 18:54 British Summer Time 20 April

    Middx 246 v Yorks 159 & 189-7

Yorkshire won't be happy about the match situation but at least they do have a three-figure lead now, which represents riches indeed after they were 83-5 when Joe Root was out for 32.

George Hill is 49 not out and Ben Coad has 19 and there are six overs to go.

  17. 150 runs

  18. wicket

WICKET Guest lbw Currie 2published at 18:49 British Summer Time 20 April

    Derbys 43-4 v Leics 574-7 dec

Derbyshire will be glad when this day finally comes to an end.

Having been on the receiving end in the field, they lose their fourth wicket as Scott Currie removes Brooke Guest in his second over.

    Another three to be bowled.

  19. Close of play at Kidderminsterpublished at 18:47 British Summer Time 20 April

    Worcestershire 184 v Durham 244 & 319-5

Three singles off Josh Baker's 13th over ends the day's play at Kidderminster with Durham well on top in a match between last summer's two promoted sides.

David Bedingham provided the batting highlight of the day with a brilliant 138 off 99 balls, sharing a third-wicket stand of 95 with Scott Borthwick, who made 75.

The visitors close on 319-5 and lead by 379 - there is no need for them to rush a declaration with six sessions left in the game.

  20. Postpublished at 18:44 British Summer Time 20 April

    Essex 377 v Lancashire 146 & 8-1

Lancashire night-watchman Will Williams survived that drop off his first ball and he is digging in for his team.

Challenges in county cricket don't get much harder than trying to see off Sam Cook.

    Three overs left tonight.
