  2. Ind 139-1 (Dhawan 62, Kohli 58)published at 05:38 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2015

Lionel Messi-lookalike Yasir Shah continues to weave his magic with a smile on his face. Dhawan and Kohli take a quick two and the throw from Wahab Riaz hits the stumps at the non-striker's end. Kohli is well home despite us taking a look at the TV replays. This partnership now worth more than 100.

"Outside the TMS box, Brett Lee and Glenn McGrath happen to be standing in the corridor at the same time, about 22 yards apart. It's absolutely terrifying."

Thanks Marc, it's been an intriguing contest this so far. Very watchable. The big man Mohammed Irfan gets two warnings from umpire Ian Gould for following through in the danger area. One more and he's out of the attack. Kohli takes a quick single and the throw from Afridi to the non-striker's end hits him in the small of the back. It's all good-natured though as Afridi apologises.

"These two are scooting along at five-an-over at the moment with very little risk. They're playing sensible, tight cricket and they're almost waiting for anything loose from the Pakistan bowlers. There's plenty of wickets left and they're setting it up nicely."

  6. Ind 131-1 (Dhawan 58, Kohli 54)published at 05:29 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2015

In the BBC Sport office, we reckon Yasir Shah has a little look of Lionel Messi. What do you reckon? The wrist spinner continues to be milked by the untroubled batsmen. It's a matter of if not when the run charge will begin. Four from the over.

And with that, allow me to hand over the live text baton to Adam Williams. Enjoy.

  8. Ind 127-1 (run-rate: 5.29)published at 05:25 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2015

Mohammad Irfan is about as athletic in the field as my gran, but he's a threat with the ball and Pakistan bring him back into the attack as they strive to break this partnership which is now worth 93 runs.

His latest over costs five runs, with one of his bouncers being called wide for being too high. A slower ball does deceive Virat Kohli though, and the batsman greets his play and miss with a steely stare.

Both sets of players emerge from the pavilion as the Hamilton sunshine briefly hides under a blanket of grey cloud. Zimbabwe openers Sikandar Raza and Chamu Chibhabha begin what appears to be mission impossible.

  11. 50 for Virat Kohlipublished at 05:19 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2015

Virat Kohli is only 26, but he's now got 34 ODI half-centuries... some record. He brings up his landmark with a single, after reaching the cusp of 50 with a four straight down the ground. He raises his bat to the crowd with the aura of a man who looks like he's only just begun. Incidentally, it took him 60 balls to reach 50.

Shikhar Dhawan reaches his half-century to a huge roar from the stands. It's a single, which brings up his landmark in 54 deliveries. He follows it up with a cut for four through the point region. Foot-to-gas time.

Nita and Razmi at the Adelaide Oval: Fantabulous atmosphere. The crowd is phenomenal. Every dropped catch, flicks and boundary is met with jubilant cheers. From our vintage point, the Indian fans outnumber Pakistanis 3:2....

One Indian spectator is so pleased with Virat Kohli's four over extra cover off Yasir Shah, he kisses his bottle of fizzy pop. Why not? Kohli looks to be quickly going through the gears now and he scores another four when he rocks back in his crease and cuts the ball past backward point. Eleven from the over.

David Miller, JP Duminy and the rest of the South African camp are not the only people celebrating at the interval. One lucky punter managed to grab a Miller six with a superb one-handed catch at the tail end of the boundary-tastic innings - meaning he will also scoop up a big prize donated by the sponsors. And the bonus was that he hardly spilt any beer while executing it....

  19. Ind 94-1 (run-rate 4.95)published at 05:02 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2015

Time for some leg-spin from Yasir Shah, who is short in stature and a potential Pakistan matchwinner. He takes six brisk steps before jumping into the delivery crease. There's plenty of fizz and spin when the ball comes out of the back of the wrist, but there's no margin for error when he drops short and a long hop is smashed through the covers by the left-handed Shikhar Dhawan for four runs.

"For the most watched cricket match of all-time, the hottest ticket in this, or any other, town and the biggest sporting rivalry in the world, there are actually rather a lot of empty seats in Adelaide.

"They seem to grouped together, rather than dotted around, so I wonder if transport/staying the in city was an issue."
