  1. Ban 150-2 (Tamim 74, Mushfiqur 6)published at 03:59 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2015

It's been confirmed that Anamul Haque, who suffered a shoulder injury while fielding, will not bat for Bangladesh today. That means Bangladesh are effectively three down now. The new batsman Mushfiqur gets off the mark by hitting a knee-high full toss to the boundary.

"This Scotland team is well prepared but I don't think they could have planned for that! That was just what they needed. Now if they can put a bit more pressure on the batsmen, they'll feel much happier."

Scotland catch a lucky break - Iain Wardlaw follows Mahmudullah down the leg side and the ball hits the batsman on the toe before deflecting onto the stumps. The batsman is out and looks to have injured his foot. Double whammy.

  4. Ban 140-1 (target 319)published at 03:53 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2015

Short in stature but with broad, powerful shoulders, Tamim has a real presence at the crease. He drives Majid Haq for a single, with the bowler later knocking over the stumps in delivery and being penalised with a no-ball. The umpire is quick to clarify that it's not a free hit as the batsman asks for clarification. You don't want to get confused on that rule.

This partnership is now worth 135 runs, meaning it's the highest for Bangladesh in the World Cup. Tamim is still there despite Richie Berrington's fine direct hit at the end of the over. He got back just in time.

  5. Ban 133-1 (Tamim 71, Mahmudullah 55)published at 03:48 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2015

Tamim Iqbal hits one of the most attractive cover drives in world cricket. He times it to perfection and the ball races away to the fence, bisecting the fielders as it goes. Again, Richie Berrington is the unfortunate bowling victim.

  6. Ban 126-1 (target 319)published at 03:45 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2015

Mahmudullah has never scored an ODI century, although he has reached three figures in a Test match against New Zealand so he does have some class about him. The ball continues to be knocked into gaps - three more knocked from the target.

Richie Berrington, who took a career-best 4-40 against Afghanistan last time out, is summoned by his skipper but his medium pace is launched into by Tamim who again drives to the cover boundary. Mahmudullah then reaches his 12th ODI half-century with four courtesy of Majid Haq's mis-field at third man. The right-hander brings up the landmark in 50 balls.

  8. Ban 112-1 (Tamim 58, Mahmudullah 47)published at 03:37 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2015

Drinks finish and it is Majid Haq to continue. Little of note happens as the batsmen ease the ball around for a couple of unrushed singles. The lull before the storm...

"There's plenty to cheer about for the Bangladeshi fans as the boundaries flow and their side take control.

"The Scotland flags are still flying in the wind but the cries of 'Bangladesh, Bangladesh' and the drums, whistles and cheers that are growing ever louder. Some of the Scottish faithful are losing a bit of their hope of witnessing a first ever Scotland World Cup victory."

  10. Ban 107-1 (target 319)published at 03:32 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2015

Bangladesh are on easy street. They knock the innocuous slow bowling of Matt Machan into the gaps as Scotland sit in and wait for something to happen. The 100 partnership is now up, and it arrives in the same number of balls. Seven from the over, and we'll have drinks.

  11. Postpublished at 03:31 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2015

Former Bangladesh cricketer Athar Ali Khan on TMS: "Tamim Iqbal has looked really good. Bangladesh needed someone at the top of the order to make a score. He's got in and now needs to carry on and get a big score. These two have eased the nerves in the dressing room with this partnership."

  12. 50 for Tamim (off 53 balls)published at 03:29 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2015

Attacking intent from Mahmudullah who comes at the bowling of Majid Haq but only gets a single. Tamim also looks keen to use his feet as he moves about in his crease and he advances to his 28th ODI half-century with one into the leg side.

  13. Ban 97-1 (target 319)published at 03:25 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2015

Matt Machan is wearing expensive-looking white shades while sending down his part-time spinners. Already we're into milking time as the Bangladeshis chip away at their target. Six more added to the Tigers' total.

  16. Ban 91-1 (target 319)published at 03:22 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2015

Local children are partaking in some fun-looking dry sledging on the brown-coloured mounds which make up much of the viewing area at this picturesque ground. They, like Bangladesh out in the middle, are picking up some decent pace.

Majid Haq is brought into the Scotland attack and his slow offies almost bring about a run-out as the batsmen again get mixed up between the wickets. Three from the over.

  17. Ban 88-1 (Tamim 44, Mahmudullah 38)published at 03:17 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2015

Scotland take the pace off the ball and give part-time offie Matt Machan a chuck. With just eight ODI wickets to his name, he's a surprise pick for the 14th over but Scotland need to pluck a dismissal from somewhere. Three from a tidy over.

  18. Ban 85-1 (target 319)published at 03:13 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2015

Mahmudullah stands like Graham Gooch at the crease - bat raised and ready to knock the ball wherever he chooses. A single puts Tamim on strike, and the little left-hander creams another boundary through the covers. The ball kisses the turf on its way to the boundary. Gorgeous shot.

Who has the best shirt at this tournament? I think the Scots have a case with their dark blue effort and its tartan arms. Mahmudullah takes a leaf out of Tamim's book and hooks a short ball for six. Alasdair Evans chunters back to his mark. His mood is not helped by a pull shot for four more. Bangladesh motoring.
