  1. Ban 65-1 (target 319)published at 03:05 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2015

Scotland need a breakthrough here. Their pace bowlers have been sized up now - perhaps it's time for some spin? As I type that, Josh Davey beats Tamim's outside edge with a sharp delivery and the batsman responds by nodding his head. Three from the over.

"It's just a little bit easy for Bangladesh. They are not being put under enough pressure and are playing low-risk shots because of the deliveries they are receiving. There are too many let-off balls."

  3. Ban 62-1 (Tamim 33, Mahmudullah 24)published at 03:01 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2015

Paul Collingwood is Scotland's assistant coach, and I'd be surprised if he doesn't take fielding drills. His handiwork almost pays off when Calum MacLeod goes close to effecting a run-out as the two batsmen get involved in something of a mix-up. A throw from cover is inches away from lighting up those bails. Evans is coming round the wicket to the left-handed Tamim, who unfurls another glorious cover drive to score four more.

  4. Ban 57-1 (target 319)published at 02:56 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2015

Tamim gives you a chance. Twice now he has hit the ball in the air on the off side and gotten away with it. There's plenty to admire too, as he gets on the front foot and drives Josh Davey to the cover boundary. Another big shot brings two over the bowler's head.

  5. Ban 49-1 (Tamim 21, Mahmudullah 23)published at 02:52 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2015

I like Alasdair Evans - he's a tall, grumpy fast bowler. All fast bowlers should be moody, shouldn't they? Getting in close to the wicket, he grunts at the point of delivery and the shape he is getting into the right-handed Mahmudullah is worrying the batsman who decides to charge the bowler. He gets no joy though and it's a maiden over.

"I think the Scottish attack has been very disappointing. They've bowled two lengths and have got their line wrong. They need to sort those out very quickly. This is a par score, although Bangladesh have a batsman down, but the Scotland boys have to tighten up and ask the batsmen some questions. At the moment they are bowling too many loose balls."

  7. Ban 49-1 (target 319)published at 02:49 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2015

Iain Wardlaw plays his county cricket at Yorkshire, which automatically means he's a good un'. And that's coming from a Lancashire fan. The white rose can do no wrong at the moment, can they? He's generating more pace than any other bowler in this match and is unlucky that a bouncer is hooked over the head of the boundary fielder for six. That was out at a bigger ground.

Ryan Heatly: I don't even like cricket, and I'm hooked. Come on Scotland.

Barry W: Sadly no cricket coverage on the telly in a distinctly-Scottish Honolulu (overcast and rainy), so aloha to the BBC live text!

  9. Ban 40-1 (Tamim 15, Mahmudullah 20)published at 02:44 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2015

There's a gentleman dressed as Horatio Nelson in the crowd, but I'm more intrigued by the abundance of bouncy castles on the outskirts of the ground. They look good fun.

Alasdair Evans isn't smiling as his first delivery is cracked through the covers by Mahmudullah who looks in good nick. Showing his all-round ability, the right-hander then clips another boundary through the leg side.

  10. Ban 29-1 (target 319)published at 02:40 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2015

According to my very quick internet search, Scotland's population of 5.3 million is dwarfed by the 157 million people in Bangladesh. It's 11 v 11 here though and the Scots are favourites by my reckoning. Mahmudullah guides Wardlaw for four down to third man to chip away at that mammoth target.

  11. Ban 24-1 (Tamim 15, Mahmudullah 3)published at 02:36 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2015

It's good to know there's a few of you following this game in the small hours. I don't know how true it is, but I am reliably informed that Scotland is home to more cricket clubs than rugby clubs? Josh Davey did pick up a wicket with a leg-side strangle, but he's straying too much down the on-side now and is flicked for four down to fine leg by the left-handed Tamim. Ten from the over.

  12. Ban 14-1 (target 319)published at 02:32 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2015

Bangladesh need runs from these two - they can't rely solely on their two top-class batsmen Shakib and Mushfiqur. Tamim is capable and he moves to 4,000 career ODI runs with two pulls to the leg-side boundary. He's only the second Bangladesh player to reach that landmark.

Philip Church in TMS inbox: In Kuala Lumpur for work and kept getting distracted in meetings by our batting exploits, well done boys! After Saturday's miserable defeat at Murrayfield can we gain some respect in the cricketing world at least?

  14. Ban 6-1 (target 319)published at 02:29 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2015

With Anamul Haque unlikely to bat because of a shoulder injury, Bangladesh are effectively two down. Mahmudullah, with more than 2,000 ODI runs to his name, is tasked with getting this Bangladesh chase up and running at the elevated position of number three.

Just the job for the Scots as stand-in opener Soumya Sarkar chases one down leg and gets a feather to wicketkeeper Matthew Cross. An important early breakthrough.

  18. Ban 3-0 (target 319)published at 02:23 Greenwich Mean Time 5 March 2015

Tall right-arm quick Iain Wardlaw begins with a steepling short ball. There's real venom in that ball from the snarling fast bowler. Tamim is soon off the mark with two as Bangladesh start with three from the first over.

Iain Wardlaw will open the bowling for the Scots. With Anamul Haque having suffered a shoulder injury while fielding, Soumya Sarkar will open the batting alongside Tamim Iqbal. Let's play.
