Shakib is back for a third spell and he keeps Scotland in check with some left-arm darts. Just four from the over.
The Bangladesh skipper Mortaza shoulders the burden of bowling first in the powerplay and he sends down a no-ball to his opposite number Preston Mommsen, who clouts six over cow corner. A free hit follows and Mommsen can't capitalise as he squirts a single into the off side. Replays show that wasn't a no-ball, so perhaps justice was done that the free hit didn't sail over the rope. Coetzer edges ever closer to a ton with four over long-off. Looking good.
Here we go then. Let's have the batting powerplay.
The two Scottish batsmen meet in the middle and debate whether to take the powerplay one over early. They decide not to after off-spinner Nasir is brought into the attack for the first time today. They want to have a look first. Just two singles from a tidy and rapid over.
Former Bangladesh cricketer Athar Ali Khan on TMS: "Scotland should pick up 300 runs here. It's good for batting and they have played sensible cricket while I like the way Coetzer is playing."
Leg-spinner Sabbir is into his fifth over now but, despite taking his maiden ODI wicket, he doesn't appear to be Test standard. Certainly on this pitch, at least. Scotland have milked him easily. Three singles.
Taskin has a peculiar action. He bounds in like Bambi and has the ball in his right arm which is far in advance of the rest of his body. Raw.
He's been punished whenever he has dropped short today and Kyle Coetzer whacks him to the cover boundary. He then delivers a slower ball which is so gentle, the batsman plays three shots before dabbing a single to backward point.
Kyle Coetzer brings up the highest score by a Scotland batsman in a World Cup with four to backward square. Not a bad milestone to have against your name. Can he become the first Scot to reach three figures? That boundary also brought up the 50 partnership. Five from the over.
Garry MacDonald
Former Canterbury spinner and coach
"Scotland are going along nicely. Coetzer needs to go deep into this innings to set up the final onslaught. Bangladesh have done a pretty good job. Their quicks bowled a bit short but their fielding has been outstanding. It's a pretty even contest."
The Bangladesh spinners have got very little turn from this pitch. England will be hoping the Adelaide strip is similar, although I doubt it. The runs are flowing too easily here as Scotland begin to set themselves up for an assault on the magical 300-mark. Mommsen pulls a long hop round the corner for four. Another boundary is avoided by Anamul Haque's boundary dive... but the opening batsman looks to have dislocated his shoulder in doing so. Ouch.
Harry Cunningham:, external As an Englishman...come on Scotland! This is your chance to make a mockery of the ICC plans for a reduced tournament!
Kyle Coetzer has got to be thinking about three figures now. He smashes Taskin through the covers for four. Boundary in the bag, the two batsmen are happy to advance the score in singles until Preston Mommsen purposefully slashes four through the now vacant slip region.
Ian:, external Fear Scotland won't be able to post a defendable score. 250? It's looking more and more like England vs Bangladesh on Monday for the fourth qualifying place.
I've spotted Nessie. Well, sort of! There's a fella walking round the ground with a Loch Ness Monster on top of his hat. Nice. What do we reckon about Nessie? Real or not? It's always fascinated me. Sort of.
Rubel Hossain continues to drop short and Kyle Coetzer again belts him for four through the leg side.
Garry MacDonald
Former Canterbury spinner and coach
"Coetzer has minimal foot movement, which is a technical downfall, but he's got a credible record and has worked his technique around it. There's a lot on his shoulders now. Scotland are looking at a big score with these two experienced players at the crease."
Kyle Coetzer has been cautious on the drive, but he doesn't miss out when leggie Sabbir tosses one up. Four runs. The runs continue to come through the off side and five singles end a decent over. Nine from it.
Vic Marks
Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special
"There's a lull in the scoring, which you'd expect after a wicket. There's a long time to go but the captain Mommsen will be fretting about the score. If you get too greedy you lose wickets and end up with an insufficient total, so you have to judge it right."
Bangladesh continue to look for wickets, with a slip in pace to quick bowler Rubel. There's a couple of plays and misses by the bearded Preston Mommsen who is happy to rotate the strike with a single to short cover. Two from the over - when will the foot be applied to the gas?
Kalika Mehta
BBC Sport in Nelson
"A lot of the local kids have got behind the Tartan Army and are sporting Scotland T-shirts. The Nelson population definitely feel quite close to their Scottish counterparts, with some saying they both know how to party properly!
"The wind has picked up a bit and the Saltire flags are waving away but it's the Bangladeshi fans who have found their voice once again as Sabbir Rahman picks up his first one-day international wicket."
The confident leg-spinner Sabbir, with his trendy haircut and upturned collars, continues and Scotland knock the singles into the gaps. Three from the over.
