Matthew Cross is the new man at the crease, charged with seeing Scotland to 300.

"What an innings from Coetzer. That was about the only ball he mistimed."
All good things have to come to an end, and Kyle Coetzer's historic knock ends when he mis-times a big shot into the leg side and the ball sails into the air before Sarkar takes a good catch. Pats on the backs all round once the right-hander reaches the team dug-out.
Imagine if Scotland and Ireland got Test status? It'd be brilliant. Kyle Coetzer scored 71 against England earlier in the tournament, and now 150 against Bangladesh. He looks capable of making the step up. He's helped the run-rate move above six an over now.

"The Scotland fans are in full voice as Kyle Coetzer scores Scotland's first ever World Cup century. He's giving them plenty to cheer about and slight groans can be heard every time Coetzer doesn't hit a boundary.
"The kids are certainly enjoying themselves and dancing around in the sun as the DJ plays a bit of Bruno Mars 'Locked out of Heaven'."

"The feature of Coetzer's innings has been his judgement. He set his stall out to play a long innings. He's not been dancing around his crease or playing any eccentric shots but has played some good, powerful and orthodox shots."
A single into the off side, and Kyle Coetzer now has 150 from 129 balls. What a knock... he's the first associate player to do so at the World Cup. Buy that boy a pint.
Richie Berrington is the new man to the crease, but Kyle Coetzer keeps the strike with a single.

"That's a good 39 because they have put on a lot and it was an important partnership. Mommsen was slow to start but gave the strike to Coetzer, his potential match winner. The job isn't done - there is scope for a big score with just over seven overs left."
The skipper falls on his sword, trying to edge his side up to 300. He tries to loft spinner Nasir over the leg-side fence but the ball goes too high and not far enough and Sarkar takes an unconvincing catch in the deep.
I've not been impressed with Bangladesh skipper Mortaza today. He's bowled a lot of boundary balls and has been down on pace. Not a good combination on this track.
He's unlucky to be edged for four through third man, though, by Kyle Coetzer. A full toss gets the treatment from the centurion and is whacked down the ground for four. Another maximum sails over the sightscreen as Coetzer begins to eye up 150. A big over that.

"This has been a superbly judged innings from Coetzer. He has played in quite a measured way but has hit some firm boundaries and from this position Scotland will be disappointed if they don't get to 300 plus. I'm not necessarily saying that will be enough though."
Nasir Hossain is coming on to bowl. No, not that one! The Bangladesh version. His floaty off-spinners are difficult for the batsmen to hit. Just five from the over.
Scotland 230-3 after 40 overs (Bangladesh won toss)
Batsmen: Coetzer 124 from 113, Mommsen 36 from 35 (stand of 114)
Fall of wickets: 13-1 (MacLeod 11), 38-2 (Gardiner 19), 116-3 (Machan 35)
Bowling figures: Mortaza 7-0-45-1, Shakib 8-0-32-0, Taskin 6-0-35-1, Hossain 8-0-60-0, Mahmudullah 5-0-29-0, Sabbir 5-0-26-1, Hossain 1-0-2-0
Bad news for Anamul Haque then. I'm beginning to think this might be Scotland's day. Perhaps they'll be dancing on the streets of Dundee at 5am?
Kyle Coetzer's cover drive for four brings up their first ever World Cup 100 partnership, and all at more than a run a ball, and takes Scotland past their highest total in ODIs against a Test-playing nation. The right-hander then belts Rubel down the ground for four. Coetzer is motoring now, whacking the fast bowler over long-off for six Adam Gilchrist-style. Fifty runs coming from the powerplay.
News is just reaching us that Bangladesh opener Anamul Haque dislocated a joint in his shoulder in his fall while fielding earlier on and has gone to hospital. He is rated as very unlikely to bat.
Shakib is a decent bowler to have in the powerplay. He's varying his pace and bowling flat - and that limits Scotland to six singles. The magical 300 remains in reach though.
Kyle Coetzer looked pretty chuffed with that century - taking off his helmet and offering a sheepish grin. Well played, sir.
Century Up
Andy Murray winning Wimbledon, that glorious grand slam by the rugby lads in 1990 and now Kyle Coetzer's hundred - the first by a Scot in the Cricket World Cup. All amazing moments in Scottish sport.
OK, I've over-egged the third one a little but the significance is fairly monumental for this associate nation. Coetzer brings up the landmark in style by whacking fast bowler Rubel back over his head for six. Great effort.
