  1. NZ 153-5 (Watling 52, Anderson 52)published at 16:27 British Summer Time 25 May 2015

Jimmy strays onto the pads again and it is flicked away for four by Watling, who then picks up a streaky boundary with an edge that bounces in front of wicketkeeper Buttler and brings up his 10th Test fifty. Watling then gets slap bang in the unmentionables. Talk about mixed emotions.

"Cook has got to do some thinking here. It is not quite working for England at the moment. It just needs a little freshen up. Stokes has the forces with him. Use the force."

Ron Dunlin: Been trying all day to contact my girlfriend Helen to let her know the cricket score, but the folk at her work say she's "busy".

Is this another twist in the gripping new BBC drama they're all talking about?

  4. NZ 145-5 (min 32 overs left)published at 16:22 British Summer Time 25 May 2015

More dozing in the crowd. One young gentleman wakes up in time to see the cameras on him, that must be an unsettling experience. Broad is excited by an inswinger and contemplates a review for lbw. Luckily his colleagues do not agree and just as well as replays show it came off the bat handle.

  6. NZ 142-5 (Watling 44, Anderson 51)published at 16:17 British Summer Time 25 May 2015

One couple in the crowd are spotted having a delightful gentle doze, but don't turn away just yet, this match has had a habit of unveiling a new twist when least expected. Jimmy looks tired. The end of his 11th over and in truth it did not provide many alarms for the batsmen. Will it be the new crowd hero Stokes next?

"No one in the ground could quite believe it when umpire Ravi's finger went up - not England, not the crowd and certainly not BJ Watling, who made the 'T' symbol like a man gasping for a brew. It was almost as if Ravi wanted to spice things up - just check that the DRS is working."

"I think they might have gone a bit early with sticking these men out and bumping them in. I'd quite like to see Stokes or Wood back on, hitting top of off and trying to nick an edge."

  9. NZ 140-5 (34 overs left)published at 16:13 British Summer Time 25 May 2015

Another siren wails away in the vicinity of NW8 as Broad thunders in from round the wicket to Anderson, with two slips and new boy Lyth again under the lid a couple of yards from the bat at short-leg. Plenty of short ones on offer and plenty of intent from the attacking Anderson, but no contact.

John Morris: Another good use of the DRS by NZ - it's not designed for speculative appeals, it's meant to stop howlers like that.

"There is no mark on the bat, but there is a flick on the pad. It didn't sound right or feel right from here."

  12. NZ 138-5 (target 345)published at 16:05 British Summer Time 25 May 2015

Watling knew immediately and Rod Tucker says it is conclusive enough for him. He has to tell umpire Ravi to overturn the decision and Watling remains. No 400th wicket for Jimmy yet.

  13. Umpire reviewpublished at 16:04 British Summer Time 25 May 2015

Watling has been given out caught behind off Anderson but hold your horses, the batsman confidently appeals for a review and it looks to have brushed the pad instead of the bat.

Thanks Phil, I'm not so sure about Dave and Helen. I think they might be using us as a vehicle for some kind of seedy roleplay. But maybe not, let's hope it is a true modern day romance. But on the subject of summer butter and mint crisps or whatever they were, there was a general indifference. Anyway, here come the players for the final chapter of this fabulous contest. The equation is five wickets from a minimum of 36 overs. Surely the 211 more runs to win can be discounted. Can't they?

Stewart in Edinburgh: Never mind the cricket - how's the Dave/Helen saga unfolding? Can't believe so many "fans" are still looking for negatives. I can't remember a Test where the impetus has switched from side to side so frequently - brilliant stuff.

Is Lord's the new Isle of Fernandos? One thing is for certain, if Helen and Dave get hitched I fully expect an invite. Probably best I don't attend in a live text commentary capacity.

  19. Who is Trevor Bayliss?published at 15:54 British Summer Time 25 May 2015

Trevor Bayliss is a 52-year-old Australian who is currently coach of New South Wales in Australia and Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League.

He was reported to be among the candidates to take charge of England when Peter Moores was appointed in 2014, although he is probably best known for leading Sri Lanka to the World Cup final in 2011. He was on the Sri Lanka team bus when it was attacked by gunmen in Pakistan in 2009.

Bayliss has won several domestic trophies: he coached NSW to the Sheffield Shield title in 2004-05 and the ING Trophy the following season.

After a four-year spell in charge of Sri Lanka - during which time he worked alongside England's current stand-in coach Paul Farbrace - he won the inaugural Big Bash and the Champions League T20 with Sydney Sixers in 2012, and the IPL with the Knight Riders the same year.

A former Australian off-spinning all-rounder, Bayliss played 58 first-class matches but never represented Australia. He filled in as coach for Darren Lehmann, external during Australia's T20 series against South Africa in 2014.
