Is it all over?! Is that the moment? Moeen thinks he has Boult caught at short leg! Not out on-field but we will have a review.

SAS: I've said it before and I will say it again, Test cricket is THE best form of cricket there is by a long, long way.

Oh yes! Moeen! The spinner comes into the attack and strikes with his first ball as Southee plants a full ball straight back for the bowler to dive and catch. I'm all for positive cricket (and New Zealand have given us some superb entertainment as a result of it) but that is not the way to save a game. One more and England have a famous, famous win.

Yes Ben Stokes! He really is England's new hero. He has four slips and two gullys for the left-handed Craig, but he doesn't need any of them as he pitches full and cleans up the spinner, who plays across the line. Stokes unleashes a wild-eyed roar towards the London sky as the ground erupts around him.

Joe Root is changing his pace well as he looks to loop the ball towards the pads of Craig or the foot-holes just to the left. Another over survived by the Kiwis. Here comes the man of the moment, Ben Stokes...

"One area where Mark Wood can improve against a batsman going hard at you is to bowl the odd slower ball."

  10. NZ 197-7 (Craig 4, Southee 19)published at 17:14 British Summer Time 25 May 2015

Southee is a capable tail-ender, which he shows with a cut to punch Wood square for a boundary, then a lofted drive down the ground for another and a lifted flick through backward point for a third in an over that goes for 18. The Kiwis are treating this like a one-dayer, not a Test match they are aiming to see out for a draw. It's crazy but it sure is entertaining.

"They are not surviving 20-odd overs batting like that. Better pace from Root, he's fizzing them in and getting plenty of revolutions. Tricky for the left-hander."

Spinner to spinner as Root looks to follow up with his previous-over heroics with the scalp of Craig. Craig doesn't look like a man who is ready to last 23 overs as he wafts at two that spin away from him and beat the bat. I like it. I like it a lot.

  17. NZ 177-7 (Craig 1, Southee 4)published at 17:07 British Summer Time 25 May 2015

Cheers Jamie. I'm more than happy to take this over and, hopefully, talk you through to an England win. There are 23 overs left and they are three wickets away, with the New Zealand tail standing in their way. After a bit of pitch maintenance, Wood continues against new man Tim Southee, whose responsibility is to resist. He almost fails with an edge to a short ball that jags back at him, catches an edge and lands in front Bell at second slip.

New man Southee clips two to open his account but this has been a superb day for England. A few candidates for England golden boy in this match aren't there but Root always seems to provide something. Now to talk you through the next chapter of this match, plus the Helen & Dave drama, here's Phil Dawkes.

"He was done in the length, staying back when he should have stayed forward, and it pitched on. England are going to get home now. They have three tail-enders to get through now. They have nobody to reassure them at the other end."
