It was coming. Santner decides he has to force the pace against Rashid - he gets one out of the middle and yammers it down the ground, but the next one is off the edge and is safely snaffled by Jordan at slip.

Santner is dealing in singles here, which is no good to New Zealand. He's a bit like a young fawn caught in the headlights of a speeding freight train as he confronts this imposing target. However, New Zealand are only 11 runs behind where England were at this stage of the innings.

Rashid, who is having an absolutely outstanding match, beats Santner first up with a terrific googly. The next wrong 'un lands a bit short and is picked by the debutant, who cashes in with a much-needed four.

Taylor is going to be OK to carry on. Santner is struggling a bit here - he can only muster a single from the remaining four balls of Stokes's over. New Zealand can't afford for him to take time to get going.

Ross Taylor is going to get a bit of treatment here. He was turning to make his ground when Eoin Morgan unleashed a shy at the stumps and it hit Taylor on the hand. That looked like it hurt, the glove comes off and Taylor is wringing his mitt.
