One new name in the Australian ranks for the Twenty20 internationals, who wasn't involved in the ODIs or Test, is powerful all-rounder Grace Harris, 21, who starred in Ireland last week as Australia warmed up for this series with a 3-0 clean sweep of the Irish.
The Queensland right-hander made 39 not out from 21 balls in the third and final game in Ireland, after an opening stand of 121 by Elyse Villani (80 from 53 balls) and Ellyse Perry (55 not out from 46).
It's about now that a pessimist like my dad would say something like "well, these runs always have to end some time..."
Exciting conclusion at Bristol
Before that, there's been an exciting One-Day Cup quarter-final being played out on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra at Bristol. Gloucestershire, chasing 218 from 34 overs in a rain-affected game with Hampshire, looked doomed when captain Michael Klinger fell for 87, but some big hitting from Jack Taylor has left the hosts needing only 15 from three overs.
And despite the weather, a sell-out crowd is expected at Chelmsford this evening - it's been a popular venue when it's staged women's internationals in recent years.

Evening, everyone. It's win or bust time for England. The Women's Ashes trophy is teetering on a cliff edge - one false move and it will disappear down under for a couple of years.
Having won the first ODI of this points-based multi-format series, Charlotte Edwards's England side have suffered successive defeats by Meg Lanning's Australia, who only need to win one of these three Twenty20 internationals to regain the trophy. But three England wins would see the series drawn 8-8 - and the hosts retain the Women's Ashes.

Perry rides her luck a little - chipping the ball just over the fielder at mid-on but a sliding stop by Natalie Sciver at long-on cuts off the boundary. 50 up for the Southern Stars.

Hazell, a dark blue flannel tucked into the back of her trousers to dry the ball, is quickly though her over and Lanning can only play out the rest of the over.

Perry smacks Gunn straight back down the pitch and it cannons into the stumps. If Gunn had got a fingertip to it, Lanning would have been run out by a couple of yards. The Southern Stars captain, not having had much of the strike early on, has moved on to 19 from 13 balls.

The first boundary of the day comes from a very streaky inside edge from Lanning which goes between keeper Taylor and short fine leg Edwards, disappearing for four. We have only one over of powerplay fielding restrictions left.

Keeper Sarah Taylor comes up to the stumps, and if it was an attempt to unsettle Villani, it's worked as the right-hander gets a leading edge and spoons the easiest of return catches to the delighted Shrubsole.
The only bad news for England is that wicket means Aussie captain Meg Lanning - arguably the best player in the world of women's cricket at the moment - is now in.

One new name in the Australian ranks for the Twenty20 internationals, who wasn't involved in the ODIs or Test, is powerful all-rounder Grace Harris, 21, who starred in Ireland last week as Australia warmed up for this series with a 3-0 clean sweep of the Irish.
The Queensland right-hander made 39 not out from 21 balls in the third and final game in Ireland, after an opening stand of 121 by Elyse Villani (80 from 53 balls) and Ellyse Perry (55 not out from 46).
Fortress Chelmsford?
England proudly boast that they've never lost at Chelmsford - in Twenty20 cricket they've beaten South Africa by nine wickets in 2014, Australia by 15 runs in 2013, India by eight wickets in 2012, New Zealand by eight wickets in 2011 and by 37 runs in 2010. In the ODI format they've beaten Australia twice in 2009, NZ in 2004, and SA in 2003 and 2000.
It's about now that a pessimist like my dad would say something like "well, these runs always have to end some time..."
Exciting conclusion at Bristol
Before that, there's been an exciting One-Day Cup quarter-final being played out on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra at Bristol. Gloucestershire, chasing 218 from 34 overs in a rain-affected game with Hampshire, looked doomed when captain Michael Klinger fell for 87, but some big hitting from Jack Taylor has left the hosts needing only 15 from three overs.

But three England wins would see the series drawn 8-8 - and the hosts retain the Women's Ashes.
