Australia have Perry with the new ball. We saw the damage they did in the Test match so there is opportunity for Australia.

Aus 122-8; Perry 30, Sciver 2-18

Quote MessageAnother couple of overs of Meg Lanning and Australia could have been looking at 150.

Charlotte Edwards will probably be saying a few swear words and saying this is what we are playing for and that everyone is out there supporting you. She will be having one-on-one chats with her key players and saying 'this is where we need you'.
So - England need 123 to win and keep the series alive. And after a disappointing series so far by her high standards - not least a "pair" in the Test at Canterbury - is this Sarah Taylor's night? Do text, tweet and email us with your thoughts...

Quote MessageSarah Taylor needs to come to the party today. If she does, this game's over.

Quote MessageIf England lose an early wicket, should they throw Katherine Brunt up even higher than five, while the field's still in?

Quote MessageAustralia had a few escapes. Potentially you could have seen them bowled out for 90. The powerplay is where the game is going to be potentially won or lost for England. I don't think England have the skill set to get themselves out of trouble by hitting sixes.

Australia 122-8 (20 overs) (Perry 30, Blackwell 19)
Bowling figures: Brunt 4-0-18-0; Shrubsole 3-0-15-1; Gunn 3-0-21-1; Hazell 4-0-21-1; Knight 3-0-29-0; Sciver 3-0-18-2.
Kate Cross was left out of the Twenty20 squad after appearing in the ODIs and the Test.

Quote MessageIf England can get one big partnership, or even two reasonable partnerships, I think they'll get this total.
Quote MessageThat was a really good team performance, a few run-outs and Katherine led the attack brilliantly so I think it's a gettable total. T20's a good format to express yourself, we've done that in the field and we now just have to do it with the bat.

Quote MessageAll runs count, especially after hearing that stat about 116 being the average score. I think England will be very pleased with their performance in the field overall. They will be a little critical of their slower balls at times that were full tosses but overall it should give them enough momentum. Obviously they have the benefit of knowing what they have to do.
Aus 122-8
Coyte's full-length dive was not in vain - the second run is awarded. So...
England must score 123 in 20 overs to keep the Women's Ashes alive.
Cameron shovels another two, then can only flat-bat a single to long-off. Coyte to face the last ball of the innings - she drives past the bowler for a single, comes back for a second and is that a run-out at the striker's end? We're going upstairs...
England stick with Jenny Gunn even though Shrubsole has an over left - dot ball, then a single, Cameron skies it high but it falls short of two fielders and they run two.
Sarah Coyte is Australia's number 10 - she whacks the ball to mid-wicket, Natalie Sciver pulls out the full-length dive which means Coyte earns three runs rather than four. One over left.

Quote MessageAustralia are starting to look shambolic at the end of the innings. Very un-Australian like.
