  1. Aus 215-4published at 47 overs

Gunn is quickly through her eighth over, England restrict the Aussies to five singles, though Blackwell has to hurry for the last one as Gunn gives chase and throws from short mid-wicket and Winfield does well to back it up.

England's ground fielding has been nothing short of diabolical in the last 45 minutes or so. I'm not pointing the finger at individuals, but collectively, it's not been great.

  3. Aus 210-4published at 46 overs

Edwards switches her spinners again as Knight replaces Marsh, but now the onus is on Perry to farm the strike and see Australia through the last five overs. They manage some ones and twos, England will be happy to prevent the boundaries.

The experienced Alex Blackwell is the new batter, but Perry nicks a strike with a single to move to 42.

What a brilliant 85 from Lanning - she did exactly what her team needed on a tough pitch to bat on. It was a good catch from Sciver.

    Lanning c Sciver b Gunn 85 (Aus 203-4)

Lanning goes after Gunn, having ridden her luck today at times, but finally Dame Fortune deserts her as she goes for a big hit over long-on and is pouched by Natalie Sciver just a few yards in from the boundary. 85 from 89 balls, and apart from the run-out chance and the dropped catch, a masterclass.

  8. Aus 200-3 (Lanning 84*, Perry 39*)published at 44 overs

New bowler, same action as Marsh replaces fellow off-spinner Knight at the Diglis End. But Perry and Lanning find easy pickings against the Kent bowler, and Lanning brutally despatches a short ball for four through mid-wicket to bring up the 200. It feels like Perry hasn't been in long, but this stand is already worth 82. Australia were 83-1 at drinks, they must have consumed some go-faster energy drinks at the hydration break...

Despite the overcast conditions the ice cream truck remains popular with the large number of kids at New Road. The sole Australia fan I’ve spotted in a bright yellow shirt is bopping up and down with joy as Lanning reaches her 50 before a few cries of ‘Come on England’ are heard amongst the DJ’s musical numbers that accompanies every landmark.

  10. Aus 188-3 (Sciver 7-0-32-1)published at 43 overs

Lanning steps back to the leg side and smacks Sciver for four through extra cover. You wouldn't put your house on her not reaching back-to-back ODI centuries here... Sciver's radar is a bit askew as she sends down a couple of legside wides which Taylor does well to take behind the timbers. Perry is providing useful support but those missed chances off Lanning must be preying on England's minds.

I was asked to write a piece the other day and asked which male batsman Meg Lanning was most like. I said Don Bradman - she must be a captain's nightmare to set fields to.

  12. Aus 180-3 (Lanning 74*, Perry 31*)published at 42 overs

Edwards rotates her bowlers, with Heather Knight back on, but Australia are rotating the strike well at this stage, while Lanning executes a well-timed sweep which perfectly bisects the fielders at long leg and deep mid-wicket. As if to taunt England, she hits the next ball to the opposite boundary with a fluent cover drive.

This is a dangerous partnership, I'm worried already. They're good between the wickets, they know each other's games well.

  14. Aus 168-3published at 41 overs

England turn back to Surrey's Natalie Sciver, Perry flicks a two off her legs, while Sciver is out of luck as Perry gets an inside edge past the stumps, it evades Taylor who's standing up and it disappears for four - that's the fifty stand.

  16. Aus 162-3 (Lanning 63*, Perry 24*)published at 40 overs

Jenny Gunn to bowl the final over of the powerplay from the Diglis End - and is let down by her fielders twice as first Brunt at deep mid-wicket and then Winfield at deep extra cover misjudge a couple of stops on the rope, letting four through on each occasion. The powerplay ends with 11 conceded from an expensive over.

And while the TMS team ponder what a "par" score is on this ground, scorer Phil Long points out that the Aussies have scored 66 in the last 10 overs in both previous ODIs. So, that'll be 228 then?

  18. Aus 151-3 (Brunt 10-2-36-0)published at 39 overs

And England decide to bowl Brunt out too, so it'll be interesting to see who bowls at the death. Perry goes after Brunt, that looks like four and they have to check with the third umpire as Lauren Winfield makes a sprawling stop but can't stop herself from touching the rope as she scoops the ball back. Lanning pushes her side's score past 150, and Perry works the last ball of Brunt's spell to mid-wicket for a quick single. So the big Yorkshire pace bowler stays on 99 ODI wickets for a while longer... I don't think they play another ODI until the winter!

  19. Aus 142-3 (Shrubsole 10-1-25-0)published at 38 overs

Lanning is moving up through the gears here, taking the chance to pull a shorter ball from Shrubsole for four. The Somerset seamer finishes her 10-over allocation, wicketless but economical - that was the only four she's conceded all day.
