So we've seen one embarrassing collapse already in the World T20, how many more might we see, especially if the pitches turn as that one in Nagpur?

On a completely unrelated note, England open up their campaign against West Indies tomorrow...

Darren Hawkins: After claiming they're gonna dominate the WT20, seeing India do their best England batting impression was priceless.

"MS Dhoni gave it the best he could today, but there was no-one really to work with him. One or two more partnerships and maybe India could have got over the line."

More from India captain MS Dhoni: "They definitely exploited the conditions and bowled well but we lacked adaptability."

On the blow he took to his thumb: "Ah, I think it will be fine."

  8. 'The batting let us down'published at 17:28

India captain MS Dhoni: "It was a low-scoring wicket definitely but I thought we'd restricted them to a good total.

"It was the batting that let us down. There were quite a few soft dismissals. Maybe with the shot selections we kept putting pressure on and there was no partnership in the middle, we were quite down when it came to the run rate."

More from Kane Williamson: "It was tough to leave out Boult and Southee, but we have to adapt to the conditions. The spinners paid off today, which was very pleasing."

  10. Williamson praises 'outstanding' bowlerspublished at 17:25

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson: "I'm obviously very pleased. It was a tough surface. Whatever score we got we knew it would be tough to chase, but we still would have liked a few more. The way we bowled was outstanding.

"Perhaps we'll reflect on how aggressive we were and do that better next time."

New Zealand pace bowler Adam Milne: "There was a lot of spin out there and we thought maybe 120 was a bit below par but fair play to our spinners, they stuck at it and got us the win.

"We knew this would be tough, and starting those partnership was hard, but we knew we had to relax if there were a few dot balls, and in the end 126 proved enough."

Alice Stainer: Amazing guile, nerve & gumption from #NZ, external in that match! How many folk besides themselves would have given them a chance? #WT20, external

Francis Edwards: That's massive. Although both major nations that is an absolutely massive shock! It wasn't a close game in the end...

"Corey Anderson's innings was really gutsy. New Zealand were two down when he came in and had they lost another in the powerplay it could have led to a rollover, but he saw them through. India didn't have that person who set those foundations."

Irfan Raja: India being demolished by a weak NZ team today. I think the rest of the teams in the group will be relishing their chances against them.

India can take a tiny crumb of comfort from the fact that not one of the previous five World T20 champions have gone through the tournament unbeaten. Trouble is, one more defeat could well put them out, and matches against Australia, Pakistan and Bangladesh will all be tough.

"India 100% knew what was coming. They saw how the wicket was turning themselves. Maybe  they came into this feeling they were on auto-pilot - that it's all been clicking for them. Maybe they just got into the flow of looking down the line-up and assuming someone is going to produce. Nobody stood up today."
