Much-needed boundary. Luke Ronchi somehow squeezes a yorker between his legs for four.

"Grant Elliott needed a full-stretch dive. Inches like that are critical. That just sums up the day for New Zealand. They've just not been able to get anything working for them. Tough going."

  5. wicket

Elliott run out 9 (NZ 114-7)

This is all about the work of Shikhar Dhawan, whose throw from long-on has Grant Elliott an inch or so short. All in a day's work for Dhawan, who celebrates by twiddling his moustache.

  6. NZ 114-6published at 19.3 overs

Ashish Nehra, the veteran left-armer, returns to bowl the final set. New Zealand scamper to come back for a second and, once more, we need a look at a run-out. Elliott could be in trouble here...

"Ravindra Jadeja has bowled brilliantly, he's angled the balls in and got some sharp turn. But the way Jasprit Bumrah nailed his yorkers... India have got such variation and quality in their bowling."

Max Braddick: These live in-play highlights are an absolute dream. India will chase whatever target NZ set inside 15 overs.

  9. NZ 111-6 (Jadeja 4-0-26-1)published at 19 overs

Luke Ronchi slaps through the off side for four, but Ravi Jadeja adjusts to spear the ball in to the batsmen and keep the rest of the over quiet. Eight from the 19th over is a definite win for the bowler. New Zealand have six balls left to pull something special out to make this competitive.

  11. NZ 103-6published at 18.1 overs

Elliott survives again, he had a toenail beyond the whitewash. Another dot ball, though. Eleven deliveries to go.

Another job for the third umpire. Grant Elliott the batsman, Ravi Jadeja the bowler. Stumped?

Yep, safely home. Move on. Bumrah ends his spell with 1-15 from four overs. Brilliant stuff. Keep an eye on him for the rest of the tournament. Two to go...

  15. Third umpirepublished at 18 overs

    NZ 103-6

I really like this lad Bumrah. The only thing I'll say against him is a moustache that looks like a dead slug. Not only has he got an arrowing yorker, but also a delicious slower ball. New Zealand can't even get his full-tosses away. There's a shout when a throw hit's direct. but I think Grant Elliott is home here...

"India are really turning the screw. MS Dhoni looked a little bit nervous under the ball but it was a solid catch in the end. New Zealand are struggling to adapt."

  17. wicket

    Santner c Dhoni b Jadeja 18 (NZ 98-6)

The Kiwis are falling in a heap here. Mitchell Santner heaves across the line, only gets a top edge that goes sky high, but straight up. MS Dhoni sets himself underneath and swallows the catch, even though he's got a poorly thumb. This might end up being a bit of an anti-climax.

Jay: Isn't T20 supposed to be a batsman's game, especially in India? Didn't Bumrah get the memo?

  19. NZ 98-5published at 16.3 overs

Mitchell Santner can only smile as Ravi Jadeja turns one so much it goes down the leg side for a wide. Santner will get his chance with the ball later and follows up with a biff down the ground for four.

"Jasprit Bumrah is metronomical with the ball; it's on the money every single time. He looks a bowler with a real natural flair. He goes quite wide with his arm - his is far from a classical style - but it's great to watch."
