  1. NZ 89-5 (Bumrah 3-0-10-1)published at 16 overs

Bumrah is that most valuable of commodities, a man who can bowl accurate yorkers on demand. Only two from the over. Quite brilliant. Grant Elliott the new man.

"I wonder how many of this New Zealand side will have seen Jasprit Bumrah? Maybe those that played in the Indian Premier League? For a young bowler to come in and perform on the money like that... India's bowling attack is really shaping up."

    Anderson b Bumrah 34 (NZ 89-5)

It's brilliant from Jasprit Bumrah, forcing the mistake from the frustrated Corey Anderson. Yorker after yorker, Anderson eventually going for the ramp-sweep, getting nothing on the ball and losing his middle stump. New Zealand in danger of falling well short here.

  4. NZ 89-4published at 15.3 overs

Back comes the impressive Jasprit Bumrah, looking to spear in the toe-crushers from a great height. It's actually very good from the moustachioed Bumrah, getting it in the blockhole to the heaving Anderson...

India are favorites but this is a tough group. Any two can go through. Not sure why everyone thinks India are already in the final. The other group is light. It will be South Africa and England/West Indies to qualify.

  6. NZ 88-4 (run-rate 5.87)published at 15 overs

That four, by the way, was the first boundary since the 10th over. New Zealand look to add a touch of urgency, scampering to the extent that Corey Anderson would have been run-out had Pandya's throw hit. Ten from the over, but the Kiwis can't get the rate above a run a ball.

"There's a fair bit to do here for New Zealand. It's not easy, the ball is turning sharply, but you're starting to wonder where they are going to get their runs. They can't afford to let these dot balls happen - at least get something."

  8. NZ 83-4published at 14.2 overs

All-rounder Hardik Pandya is on - maybe a slight surprise given how well the spinners have gone. Dhoni winces as he takes the ball, removing his glove and shaking his right thumb. Finally Santner finds the boundary, flicking to square for his first four from the 10th ball he's faced.

"MS Dhoni could not ask for more from Suresh Raina. He tied things down, got an early breakthrough, and then provided the brilliant piece of fielding for that run-out. Corey Anderson is still in there, but there's so many more bowling options from India to come."

  10. NZ 78-4 (Raina 4-0-16-1)published at 14 overs

Suresh Raina has crept through his overs, barely conceding a run. Very handy from a man who will probably bat in the top five. Round the wicket to this pair of lefties, with Mitchell Santner struggling to get it off the square. Raina finishes a wonderful spell with 1-16 from his four overs. At this rate, India will chase this in about 10 overs.

bROCKerz: On paper it's a strong-looking New Zealand side, but without big-hitting B McCullum there's just not the fear factor there!

  12. NZ 75-4 (Anderson 30, Santner 1)published at 13 overs

The physio is on to tend to the most valuable fingers in world cricket. I will say this about Dhoni - he gets hit on the fingers more than any other wicketkeeper I've ever seen. He's back with his gloves on, behind the sticks. Jadeja goes back over the wicket, perhaps to prevent the leg-side deliveries that have had the skipper in trouble.

"MS Dhoni looks in a lot of trouble here. It really skidded on quickly, and he's still holding his hand. He hasn't moved at all. He's the captain, the main man, and India need him to be firing."

  14. NZ 71-4published at 12.2 overs

The ball is ragging square. Twisty, turny, befuddling the men in black. The Kiwis have made a good call to pick three spinners, but they might not have enough runs to defend. Ooofff, a blow to MS Dhoni, who is on his haunches after taking one from Ravi Jadeja on the thumb.

"The bowling from India has been so good. There are not many teams who can say they've got this much depth and balance in their team."

  16. NZ 63-4published at 12 overs

Replays make than run-out look even better. I mean, as a batsman, you don't expect to get run-out when the ball hasn't even left the cut strip. Mitchell Santner is the new man. He needs to pull a rabbit out of his Black Cap.

"Suresh Raina has created a bit of magic today - he came in to shore up, took a wicket and now he's plucked that bit of fielding out of nowhere. Ross Taylor will be gutted, but really there was nothing he could do."

Taylor run out (Raina) 10 (NZ 61-4)

You will not see a better bit of fielding than this. In his follow-through, Suresh Raina has dived, collected the ball and thrown at the stumps all in one motion. Ross Taylor, backing up, turns, but does not get his bat down to beat Raina's direct hit. Absolutely brilliant from Raina and a perfect example of India's dominance in this match so far.

"What an incredible piece of athletic fielding! You can't teach that. I think Ross Taylor is a goner here..."

Now then. Has Raina run-out Taylor in his follow-through here? The bowler is celebrating. It could be brilliant work...
