  1. ouch!

    Eng 134-5published at 18.3 overs

Fahima to bowl the penultimate over, Wyatt dabs a two to third man, clubs another to long-on and can't connect with a reverse-paddle, though it looks like the keeper has taken a blow in the stomach trying to stop the ball as England scamper a bye.

  2. Eng 129-5 (Wyatt 7, Brunt 2)published at 18 overs

Katherine Brunt the new batter, this should be an entertaining partnership with two feisty characters at the crease... She pushes her first ball for two through mid-wicket. Two overs left and still some batting to come.

"The ball was just a bit too wide, with Edwards understandably going down the wicket looking for momentum. It just wasn't lined up nicely. Still, it's a brilliant innings. She's got England to a nice total."

  4. wicket

Edwards st Sultana b Rumana 60 (Eng 127-5)

Trying to force the pace, Edwards comes down the pitch to Rumana and is stumped... but they're going to have another check with the third umpire, perhaps the Bangladesh keeper's eagerness is being checked out. After plenty of replays, third umpire Johan Cloete decides that yes, the ball was taken behind the stumps. Just.

  5. Eng 124-4published at 17.2 overs

Danielle Wyatt is pushed up to number six by England - she had a good winter with the Melbourne Renegades (or as she dubbed them, the "Renebabes") in the Women's Big Bash League in Australia. And after pushing her first ball for two, she gives her second a Big Bash and it's a first-bounce four through extra cover. Six from two balls for Wyatt.

"It was the right shot but Sciver couldn't get the power on it. It's a shame because she and Edwards had built a nice little partnership, but this is where England do have to be aggressive. Acceleration at the end is key."

  7. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 17 overs

    Sciver c Nahida b Salma 27 (Eng 118-4)

Will it be a hat-trick of dropped catches? Sciver launches the ball in the air over long-on, and this time Bangladesh hold on to one. The Surrey all-rounder departs for 27 from 22 balls, and England have three overs left to post a big score.

  8. dropped catch

    Eng 118-3

Charlotte Edwards, legend of women's cricket that she is, is not known for playing the reverse-lap shot, but she pulls out the unorthodox shot, guiding a single to third man. Nat Sciver, having established herself at the crease, latches onto a short delivery and pulls it for four. Next ball, she's dropped at mid-wicket - and next ball after that, Edwards is dropped by the skipper at extra cover! That'll teach Charles Dagnall to praise Bangladesh's fielding...

"Bangladesh really have given everything, you can't fault the effort they have given in the field."

  10. Eng 109-3 (Edwards 56, Sciver 20)published at 16 overs

Edwards and Sciver are motoring along now, even if not quite in top gear, they're taking ones and twos off nearly every delivery from leg-spinner Rumana. A fluent sweep from Sciver is stopped on the long leg boundary - Bangladesh are throwing themselves around in the field, though it will remain to be seen if they can cope with England's pace attack.

"The key here for England is to up the run-rate now. You can see Charlotte Edwards is starting to put her foot down. She was almost caught there but that intent is starting to come out."

  12. dropped catch

    Eng 102-3

Bangladesh shuffle their bowlers and turn back to cap-wearing spinner Salma Khatun. Edwards knocks a two into the deep, and a single to long-on brings up the England hundred. But off the last ball of the over, Edwards blasts the ball back at the bowler and is dropped as Salma's fingers are stung by a hard chance to her left. Ouch. Five overs left.

"A brilliant 50. Edwards has got so much experience that playing on a good wicket these bowlers are not really able to test her. She's looked at such ease throughout, not trying to over-hit anything. She's kept control, lining herself up for a long innings."

  16. 50 runs

50 for Charlotte Edwardspublished at 14 overs

    Eng 96-3

Bangladesh's seventh bowler (and second bespectacled bowler) is Rumana Ahmed, another leg-spinner. Edwards, on 48, drills a single to long-on and thinks about a second... but decides not to. Sciver rotates the strike, and another more delicate single brings the skipper her 11th Twenty20 international fifty from 41 balls.

  17. Eng 91-3published at 13 overs

Edwards down the track to Kubra and leathers it through mid-wicket for four. Sciver is a little more nimble on her feet than her skipper - she has 10 from eight balls, and the skipper moves on up to 48 from 39.

  18. Eng 83-3 (Edwards 42, Sciver 8)published at 12 overs

Fahima gets a third over, Sciver sweeps and there's a sprawling stop on the boundary, which doesn't quite stop the ball cleanly and a four is signalled. Nine from the over, but Bangladesh certainly aren't getting overawed here.

  19. Eng 74-3 (Edwards 40, Sciver 2)published at 11 overs

Natalie Sciver is the new batter, she and Edwards plunder three singles from the rest of Kubra's over. The skipper has 40 from 32 balls.

"Heather Knight didn't move on the crease - her feet were stuck and she jabbed at it. It was a good catch from Kubra though - the ball was low and it came on sharply."
