    Middlesex 452 & 184-3 v Warwickshire 468

A little slice of history at Lord's as Sam Robson becomes the first player to score a double century and a century in the same game at the famous old ground. He reaches three figures (again) off 179 balls, with a single from the bowling of Keith Barker.

Robson has so far batted for 728 minutes in this game - that's over 12 hours - and must wish he could roll up this pitch and take it round the country with him for the rest of the summer.

Jack (see 1.25 entry) says the last tie in the Championship was between Warwickshire and Essex in 2003, a game reduced to one innings per side after rain. The last 'proper' tie was apparently between Notts and Worcestershire in 1993. Thanks, Jack - let's see what happens at Hove.

England stars Ben Stokes and Moeen Ali are set to play their first Championship games of the summer in the third round of fixtures, which get under way on Sunday.

Stokes will look to put his World T20 final disappointment behind him as Durham meet Middlesex at the Riverside, while Moeen turns out for Worcestershire against neighbours Gloucestershire at Bristol.

Here's the full list of fixtures - and don't forget that the BBC will once again be providing live commentary on each day of every game from 10:45 BST.

    Division One:

    Durham v Middlesex

    Surrey v Somerset

    Warwickshire v Yorkshire

    Division Two:

    Derbyshire v Glamorgan

    Essex v Northamptonshire

    Gloucestershire v Worcestershire

    Leicestershire v Kent

  4. Early finish at Bristol?published at 13:31 British Summer Time 20 April 2016

    Derbyshire 444 & 105-1 v Gloucestershire 563 - lunch

BBC Radio Gloucestershire's Bob Hunt at Bristol:

"It looks like a tame draw after all at Bristol. The pitch hasn't changed much, the only wicket to fall was a fluke and at lunch Derbyshire are only 14 runs behind. Handshakes at 4.50 methinks."

  5. Relentless Robson baffles Bearspublished at 13:28 British Summer Time 20 April 2016

BBC WM's Richard Wilford at Lord's:

"Sam Robson's sheer hunger for runs has dragged Middlesex to almost-certain safety against Warwickshire. He continues to prod the England selectors after passing the 300-run mark for the match. Barring an unusually sporting declaration, a draw seems inevitable."

'Prod the England selectors' - now that conjures up some interesting mental images. If you could, what would you use? Snooker cue? Bratwurst? A stick with a sponge on the end covered in fig jam (thank you EL Wisty)...and which selector would you prod first?

When was the last tied game in the Championship? I could look it up, but I'm eating my sandwiches.

  9. History-maker Robson?published at 13:10 British Summer Time 20 April 2016

    Middlesex 452 & 165-3 v Warwickshire 468

Sam Robson is on course for a bit of history at Lord's this afternoon. After his 231 in Middlesex's first innings, the opener is currently 84 not out at lunch.

Here's the current position in the five remaining games following Lancashire's eight-wicket win over Notts:

    Division One

    Middlesex 452 & 165-3 v Warwickshire 468

    Yorkshire 593-9 dec & 67-4 v Hampshire 453-9 dec

    Division Two

    Leicestershire 427 & 89-0 v Glamorgan 348 & 191 - Leics need 24 more to win

    Derbyshire 444 & 105-1 v Gloucestershire 563

    Essex 320 & 80-3 v Sussex 360 & 288 - Essex need 249 more to win

WICKET Bopara (c Machan b Shahzad 28)published at 13:06 British Summer Time 20 April 2016

    Essex 320 & 80-3 v Sussex 360 & 288 - lunch

BBC Sussex's Adrian Harms at Hove:

"A wicket on the stroke of lunch has shifted the balance back in favour of Sussex, with Ravi Bopara splendidly caught by Matt Machan, diving at deep square leg

"Sussex will rue dropping Alastair Cook when he had scored just a single, but with 249 needed in 66 overs all three results are still possible."

Horton pushes Foxes closer to winpublished at 13:01 British Summer Time 20 April 2016

    Leicestershire 427 & 83-0 v Glamorgan 348 & 191

There's a second fifty of the game for Leicestershire opener Paul Horton, this one taking him 73 balls and including 10 fours. Considering that Leicestershire wins in the past three years have been rarer than a water-skiing elephant, they are making this run-chase look easy. Only 25 more needed.

  14. wicket

WICKET Bairstow (c Wheater b McLaren 5)published at 12:45 British Summer Time 20 April 2016

    Yorkshire 593-9 dec & 43-4 v Hampshire 453-9 dec

Hampshire may be a team made up of the walking wounded, but they are certainly giving the defending champions an uncomfortable final morning at Headingley.

After his first-innings double century, England's Jonny Bairstow departs for five, just two overs after Adam Lyth goes for 15 to the same McLaren-Wheater combo.

Yorkshire are 183 ahead, but if they keep losing wickets at this rate, we could find ourselves with a run-chase on our hands.

  15. Foxes on course for victorypublished at 12:41 British Summer Time 20 April 2016

    Leicestershire 427 & 59-0 v Glamorgan 348 & 191

Sam Robson is racking up the runs for Middlesex at Lord's - meanwhile, younger brother Angus is doing his bit to help Leicestershire to victory in south Wales. Needing only 113 to win, he and fellow opener Paul Horton have got through the first 16 overs unscathed and it looks like it's only a matter of time before the Foxes savour that winning feeling - a feeling they haven't experienced often in the past three years.

  16. Hants coach back in actionpublished at 12:36 British Summer Time 20 April 2016

Dale Benkenstein ended his playing career in 2013 - but so severe are Hampshire injury problems that he's had to take the field as a substitute fielder....

  17. Ballance out cheaplypublished at 12:26 British Summer Time 20 April 2016

    Yorkshire 593-9 dec & 30-2 v Hampshire 453-9 dec

Gary Ballance hopes to return to the England Test team this summer, but the Hampshire attack have not done him any favours in this match. After falling for 12 in the first innings, he has become James Tomlinson's second victim with only four to his name. The champions lead by 170.

  18. Derbyshire make solid startpublished at 12:23 British Summer Time 20 April 2016

    Derbyshire 444 & 58-1 v Gloucestershire 563

BBC Radio Derby's Dave Fletcher at Bristol:

"Despite the early loss of Ben Slater to an unfortunate run out, Derbyshire are going about their business nicely at Bristol.

"They began the day 119 behind after the first innings and Slater was dismissed when bowler Liam Norwell got his hand to a Chesney Hughes drive and deflected the ball onto the stumps.

"Hughes has put that behind him and moved on to 26, with stand-in skipper Hamish Rutherford on 23not out."

  20. LANCASHIRE BEAT NOTTS BY EIGHT WICKETSpublished at 12:14 British Summer Time 20 April 2016

    Nottinghamshire 242 & 175 v Lancashire 332 & 88-2

Alviro Petersen and Luke ProcterImage source, Getty Images

An emphatic finish at Old Trafford as Luke Procter hits three successive fours off Samit Patel and then ends the match with a six to deep mid-wicket as the final over costs the left-arm spinner 19 runs.

Procter (35*) and Alviro Petersen (31*) put on 61 after loss of Karl Brown and Haseeb Hameed as Lancashire reached their target of 86 in 18 overs.

That's 22 points for the Red Rose, and three for Notts, who have started the season win-loss.
