Ex-England captain on BBC Test Match Special
"Steven Finn looks like he is struggling for a little bit of confidence. Being put on last to bowl, when Chris Woakes has just come into the side, doesn't help either. He's got to try and find that rhythm. I liked the way he bowled after tea, he was a bit more aggressive and in the batsmen's face."
Moeen's not the only bowler England have concerns over. After two magnificent series against Australia and South Africa, Steven Finn has had a ropy couple of Tests.
The Middlesex beanpole has looked bereft of rhythm, sometimes dropping below 80mph in pace, and has been palpably outbowled by Chris Woakes in this game.
He could do with some confidence-boosting wickets this morning...
Graeme Swann
Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special
"People don't understand spin bowling in this country. On a slow wicket with the ball turning, why would you have no point but a man at extra cover? You want to entice him to drive through extra cover, but without a point, they'll just wait and hit the ball through point."
Phil Tufnell
Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special
"Moeen Ali got targeted a bit by Mathews yesterday. In this situation, you've got to look to either hold an end, or entice shots from Sri Lanka - and he didn't really do either. If you're going to toss it up, really toss it up, don't go halfway. He rather got caught between two stools."
It's been an up-and-down Test for Moeen Ali. He made a brilliant unbeaten 155 with the bat - his highest Test score for England by a distance.
Then he made an immediate impact with the ball, bowling Lahiru Thirimanne with an absolute doozy.
But thereafter, it was more pain than gain, as his 17 overs were bludgeoned for 94 runs, and his confidence visibly wilted in the face of the Sri Lankan onslaught...

"Sri Lanka batted well yesterday, England weren't quite at the races."
Graeme Swann
Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special
"It was the right decision to enforce the follow-on, but yesterday shows why bowlers don't enjoy it. England have been in the field for 120 overs in the last two days. It's miserable today, there's a breeze which makes it colder. If Sri Lanka make England bat again, it's a moral victory for them, if they make England chase over 100 it's even better."
It was a much-improved performance with the bat from Sri Lanka yesterday. After tourists had posted their third consecutive score below 120, England made them follow on for the second Test in a row.
This time though, they made a much better fist of it, with Kaushal Silva, Angelo Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal all hitting fifties as they reached 309-5.
Trouble is, with Sri Lanka 400-odd runs behind on first innings in the second Test, it's all rather too late for the senior players to find some form...
Phil Tufnell
Ex-England spinner on BBC Test Match Special
"Sri Lanka finally showed some resistance yesterday. Is every pitch in England like Headingley? No, this one has flattened out, it's a good batting track."
BBC Weather's Simon King: "It's a bit overcast and grey, but things will improve - towards the afternoon there will be sunny spells. It will stay quite breezy today, temperatures about 16 Celsius. I suspect we won't need Tuesday, but if we do, it's going to be cloudier and cooler, with possibly some rain in the afternoon. Should be dry today though."

"I've just watched England playing football in their England woollen beanie hats, and I wonder if TMS could get some? They looked a bit tired and cold yesterday, but they've had a night's rest and I'm sure they'll be looking to get the job done this morning."
Simon Mann

"It's going to be a really tall order for Sri Lanka to prevent England from winning this match. The covers are on, but I've spoken to fourth umpire David Millns and he says we're going to start on time, with the lights on."

England won toss
Hello and welcome to live text and radio commentary, plus in-play highlights, of the fourth day of the second Test between England and Sri Lanka at Chester-le-Street.
England will be pretty hopeful that today's the day they wrap up victory in the match and series. But you just never know...
For a moment there, England thought winning a Test series was going to be easy-peasy...
But that was before Angelo and his mates finally decided to turn up to the party...
Now Sri Lanka are just 88 behind, with five second-innings wickets still in hand. They couldn't, could they?
