Just to confirm, tonight's victory gives England an unassailable 16-8 lead in the Super Series. We have one ODI left to play in this leg of the Super Series, that's on Sunday in Cardiff, while we also have a T20 at Old Trafford on 7 September.

It's been good from England. They didn't panic when they lost their wickets early on. Ben Stokes was magnificent and Jonny Bairstow has been phenomenal for two years now. He's a pleasure to watch play.

England captain Eoin Morgan: "We did a fantastic job with the ball. It was a great effort, and special mention to the spinners. Then the guys who came in, Chris Jordan and David Willey, did really well.

"One of our strengths is that we bat all the way down. Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow made match-winning contributions.

"Jonny was outstanding, it was a man of the match performance and he's struggling to be a regular in this side which is good for us."

Pakistan captain Azhar Ali: "It was a bit more of a competitive game. Again we were a few runs short. We didn't have good partnerships in between wickets. The wicket was turning but it was still a good pitch. But we lost wickets frequently.

"Irfan on his comeback game bowled well with the new ball. But his calves were cramping up. We would have loved for him to bowl a second and third spell. A few more wickets and the game could have been different.

"I couldn't really capitalise on my score. I feel in good form but I need to get on with more."

England's Jonny Bairstow, speaking to the BBC's Kevin Howells: "I'm pleased to get a go. It's unfortunate that Jos suffered an injury, and I got told 32 minutes before the start that I was playing so to contribute was nice. We were pleased at the halfway mark. We thought it was an attainable target and if we're honest, we cruised home. There was no panic at any point in that chase."

On shaving off his beard: "I got told off by my Mum, my Grandma had been on the phone."

And so finally, the moment that gave England its 4-0 series lead. Just when the game looked to be heading to a stupor involving singles and doubles, Moeen Ali came up with a couple of sixes to finish things off. The only gripe about that I guess is we didn't get to see what innovation Pakistan were going to employ to fill the one-over gap left by Irfan's injury. But I suppose we can't have it all.

Also, before we go into the match-winning moment, here is a look at a story titled "Mohammad Irfan and the Widest Wide". This was moments before the fast bowler walked off for the final time with his calf injury.

England looked in cruise control despite Bairstow's run out for 61 which came with the total on 225. That, in fact, was the last wicket to fall for the hosts.

Bairstow played the anchor role for a good chunk, but was not beyond smacking a few out of the park either. He got to his fifty after Ben Stokes sadly could not build on his 69 - caught fittingly off an attempted slog.

Eoin Morgan struggled to get going and - almost mercifully - fell to a slip catch off Umar Gul. It allowed Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow to lead the charge for England. Stokes, in particular, using his belligerence to great effect.

Root would have loved to lead England home on local turf. Five fours and a six looked enough evidence for the same as well. But even before the skies starting changing into all the colours of the rainbow, England's number three was caught at fine leg off a mis-timed pull shot.

Well, you can't say Pakistan didn't give this a go, even if it was for short periods. Mohammad Irfan gave them a pretty good start, reducing the hosts to 36-2 by removing Jason Roy and Alex Hales. Suddenly, Pakistan looked odds-on for a dramatic comeback.

Adil Rashid is the man of the match for me. Headingley is never the easiest place to bowl spin, but I think he's looking the real deal now. He's putting lots of revs on the ball, delivering all his variations and he was rewarded with three wickets today.

Today, England showed how much adapability they have. In the last game, they had Jos Buttler and Eoin Morgan come in and accelerate while here they navigated themselves out of choppy waters with a different style of batting through Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow.

Under the lights, the futuristic media centre of the stadium looking down on England's win which came with two overs left. Pakistan troop off like they don't really care about losing this Super Series. The horror!
