Smash! Moeen Ali wraps it up with another glorious six. It's high and equally handsome, as he dances down the track to launch it.
After all the boredom, that's the way uh huh uh huh. We like it.
Need 3 to win
Field comes in, after Moeen takes another heave down the ground which only brings a single.
Crack! Moeen Ali you beauty. Earlier this summer that shot got him into trouble but tonight he shuffles down the track and carts Azhar Ali over long off for a huge six. Four needed to win.

England will want to finish it in this over before Sharjeel pulls off the biggest hustle in cricket history by bowling 95mph inswinging yorkers.
Target 248
Another dull-ish over finishes off, and Taylor Swift comes up at the end to tell us all to shake it off. Right, that's Hasan Ali's quota done with. He joins Imad Wasim, Mohammad Nawaz and Umar Gul in finishing up. Pakistan, who you gonna call?

I'm pretty sure the England team will not know about the predicament Pakistan are in.
Eng 231-6
Apparently, Pakistan will be an over short from their list of established bowlers. We could see a very interesting move involving one of the likes of Babar Azam or maybe Sharjeel in the near future. Azhar Ali rolls his arm over to concede just three, which will be a relief for him.

David Willey will be feeling nervous about this. Even though the game is nearly won, you don't want to be the man who uses up four or five deliveries and makes it tight.
Target 248
Suddenly, Pakistan have found an extra bit of pace in their movements. Like when you feel sleepy on a night out but find that second wind all thanks to a swig from a random glass. Just me? David Willey nearly gets caught out at slip trying to play at Umar Gul's wide-ish delivery but the ball falls short of the fielder, who is up in a flash to throw the ball back. Everyone in green is running about looking busy.

He's gone by an inch or so. Could that be the spark that lightens this game back up?
Bairstow run out Azhar (Eng 225-6)
Even the dive didn't save Bairstow in the end, as he's out by mere inches. Bit of a jumpy end after all that general monotony. Bairstow pushed an Umar Gul delivery to mid-off and set off for the single. He tries to lunge himself in but can't quite make it in time as Azhar Ali's super piece of fielding does the trick.
Bairstow nudges a ball to mid-off and the direct hit comes in to the non-striker's end. We go upstairs.

In England, this team are a match for anyone. But it's whether they can transfer this to pitches in Australia and India.
Need 24 from 36 balls
Azhar Ali is indeed into the attack, fresh from being mauled by Alex Hales. He's milked by the batsmen who know that they only need to knock the ball into gaps to win at a canter.

Azhar Ali is warming up, and he has to bowl the overs that Mohammad Irfan didn't.
Target 248
If you've been a bit starved of some exciting, dashing, bish-bashing four-smashing, here's a look back at Bairstow's half-century moment from a short while ago. Notice the belligerence, the use of feet, the pace of the shot, and guffaw at Moeen's attempts to do a Matrix style duck.
You can tell the action is a bit dull in real time, can't you? Even my telly threatened to switch itself off in boredom. Umar Gul's latest over yields six.
Peter Miller: Not sure what was funnier, that terrible wide or Micky Arthur's reaction to it.
England need 37 more to win
Imad takes over bowling duties for Pakistan. Mickey Arthur has had his grumpy face on for the last half hour I think. He appeared to turn the air blue after Irfan's wide and then went back to his mixture of frustration and concern. Woe betide the restaurant or room service that cooks his food below-par today. Also makes me wonder who's been signing off on Irfan coming back to the field every time. Is it a "meh, let's see what happens" approach?

That is the widest wide I've ever seen.
Graeme Swann adds: It was delivered on off stump on the next pitch.
