    Durham 25-1 (3.4 overs) v Northants

    James Taylor
Ex-England batsman on BBC Test Match Special

"That's a brilliant catch and something you don't associate with Azharullah but he's got an outstanding pair of hands.

"I think Mark Stoneman was caught in two minds with what shot to play and he played a pull shot straight.

"That's a big blow but fortunately [for Durham Jets] in comes a dangerous Ben Stokes."

  2. Tight lines from Azharullahpublished at 19:11 British Summer Time 20 August 2016

    Durham 17-1 (3 overs) v Northants

That's a wonderful first over from Azharullah. Just one from it and the big wicket of the dangerous Mark Stoneman.

What can Ben Stokes do here?

Azharullah comes into the attack and picks up a wicket with his second ball.

The ball just gets up on Mark Stoneman and he swipes a simple catch back to the fast bowler.

Ben Stokes, fresh from his 56 in the semi-final, comes in at three.

  4. Jennings in fine formpublished at 19:07 British Summer Time 20 August 2016

    Durham 16-0 (2 overs) v Northants

Keaton Jennings has had some season for Durham, becoming the first man to 1,000 runs in the County Championship.

You can see what excellent form the 24-year-old is in as he smacks giant South African seamer Rory Kleinveldt back over the top for his second boundary.

Kleinveldt keeps the rest of the over tight though - another eight from it.

    Durham 8-0 (1 over) v Northants

I think everyone needs to take a breath after two exhilarating semi-finals. But there's no time for that, the final is under way!

Keaton Jennings takes a look for a couple of balls from Northants quick Ben Sanderson before launching him back over his head to the boundary.

Eight off the over, good start for the Jets.

  6. The Final Countdownpublished at 18:58 British Summer Time 20 August 2016

Northamptonshire v Durham (starts 19:00 BST)

Thanks Paul, phew, what a quick turnaround that was!

The Northants players are emerging to 'The Final Countdown' by Europe I believe, quickly followed by Durham's openers Mark Stoneman and Keaton Jennings.

We're all set for a cracker.

Ok, that's all from me for the time being. Thanks for your company. I'm going to hand you over, by the magic of wifi, to Gary Smee at Edgbaston, who will take up the text commentary for the final.

    Let's hope it's a cracker.

  8. Collingwood opts to bat firstpublished at 18:52 British Summer Time 20 August 2016

Northamptonshire v Durham (starts 19:00 BST)

So it's Paul Collingwood's lucky day at the coin toss as he is on the right side of fortune once again and opts to bat first. Both sides are, unsurprisingly, unchanged.

Northants: Levi, Rossington, Cobb, Duckett, Wakely, Crook, Keogh, Kleinveldt, White, Sanderson, Azharullah.

Durham: Stoneman, Jennings, Stokes, Borthwick, Richardson, Burnham, Collingwood, Pringle, Arshad, Wood, Rushworth.

  9. Edgbaston set for T20 finalpublished at 18:47 British Summer Time 20 August 2016

Northamptonshire v Durham (starts 19:00 BST)

This year's T20 Blast competition started on 20 May. Now we have just two teams left.

Will it be 2013 winners Northants who lift the trophy, or will it be heading to the north-east for the first time?

Durham had the upper hand when the two sides met in July during the group stage, chasing down Northamptonshire's 149-5 to win by six wickets with nine balls to spare.

But that was then, this is now.

  10. Wood 'delighted' by wicketspublished at 18:44 British Summer Time 20 August 2016

    Durham 156-6 (20 overs) v Yorkshire 149-9 (20 overs)

Durham bowler Mark Wood on BBC Test Match Special:

"I don't know if my heart can take much more, that was backwards and forwards, backwards and forwards.

"It was huge entertainment, I'm just glad we came out on the right end.

"I'm delighted with my performance, obviously the wickets are what counts - you try to keep the runs down, but if you can get wickets in really puts a dent in their side."

  11. Durham beat Yorkshire by seven runspublished at 18:38 British Summer Time 20 August 2016

    Durham 156-6 (20 overs) v Yorkshire 149-9 (20 overs)

Yorkshire batsman Gary Ballance on BBC Test Match Special:

"I think 157 was chaseable, but credit to them, they bowled very well.

"Mark Wood's obviously in good form, he's bowling quick, he hit the bat hard, he bowled brilliantly today and he's won the game for them.

"We started poorly this year, then we won seven or eight of the last nine games to get ourselves here so it's a great effort, but once you get here you want to win it all."

    Durham 156-6 v Yorkshire 149-9

So, Yorkshire's last-wicket paid cannot manage a single boundary from the final over and that is a superb victory for Durham Jets, who will meet Northants Steelbacks in the final. Mark Wood was the undoubted star performer with his four wickets for Durham, while Yorkshire's decision to include England batsmen Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow and Gary Ballance backfired as they contributed only 10 runs between them.

  13. Postpublished at 18:31 British Summer Time 20 August 2016

    Durham 156-6 v Yorkshire 147-9 (19.4 overs)

Azeem Rafiq can only manage one more off Usman Arshad and Adil Rashid hits down the ground for two - 10 needed off two.

  14. Postpublished at 18:29 British Summer Time 20 August 2016

    Durham 156-6 v Yorkshire 144-9 (19.2 overs)

Only one to start the over and Adil rashid slashes the second away for one more - 13 needed from four.

    Durham 156-6 v Yorkshire 142-9 (19 overs)

    Chris Woakes
England all-rounder on Test Match Special

"Phenomenal bowling from Mark Wood and great to watch after all the injuries he's had.

"I tell you what, the England boys won't be lining up to face him in the nets next week."

  16. Postpublished at 18:28 British Summer Time 20 August 2016

    Durham 156-6 v Yorkshire 142-9 (19 overs)

Azeem Rafiq takes through the covers and adds a single to end the over as Mark Wood finishes with 4-25 from his four overs. Super effort by the England quick. So, we have six balls left - Yorkshire must score 15 runs to reach the final.

WICKET Bresnan (b Wood 9)published at 18:25 British Summer Time 20 August 2016

    Durham 156-6 v Yorkshire 139-9 (18.4 overs)

What a performance by Mark Wood who cleans up Tim Bresnan after Adil Rashid takes a single from the previous delivery. Only Azeem Rafiq left - it's looking like a Northants v Durham final, but I'm sure north-east cricket fans would urge me not to count the poultry.

  18. Postpublished at 18:24 British Summer Time 20 August 2016

    Durham 156-6 v Yorkshire 138-8 (18.2 overs)

    Chris Woakes
England all-rounder on Test Match Special

"Paul Collingwood's called upon his best bowler to get a wicket and he's done just that."

  19. wicket

WICKET Plunkett (b Wood 9)published at 18:24 British Summer Time 20 August 2016

    Durham 156-6 v Yorkshire 138-8 (18.2 overs)

Mark Wood back for his final over and Liam Plunkett edges first ball for four, but is bowled off his pads by the next one. That's the third wicket by Wood, who has looked the pick of the pacemen on show in this game. Yorkshire need 19 from 10 balls.

  20. Postpublished at 18:22 British Summer Time 20 August 2016

    Durham 156-6 v Yorkshire 134-7 (18 overs)

Liam Plunkett collects four past the keeper but can only master one from the next delivery as he drives into the covers. Tim Bresnan throws the kitchen sink at the final ball and it just eludes the grasp of Ben Stokes as it flies for six. Two overs left, 23 required.
