    Durham 156-6 v Yorkshire 77-3 (10 overs)

Jonny Bairstow pushes away for his first run, but that's an excellent over for Durham - just two from it, and the bonus of a wicket - 80 needed from 60 balls.

"The players wanted to celebrate there, but once again the fielders are keeping an eye on the clock and how much time they have to bowl the overs.

"Ben Stokes took the catch there, but he was keen to get on with it straightaway."

No sooner said than done as Alex Lees top-edges a pull shot off Scott Borthwick and Ben Stokes dives forwards at mid-wicket to take the catch. That was unnecessary from a Yorkshire point of view, but they now have Jonny Bairstow striding to the crease.

    Durham 156-6 v Yorkshire 75-2 (9 overs)

If you've just joined us, watch the moment Durham dismissed England batsman Joe Root for just seven in Yorkshire's pursuit of 157 in this second T20 Blast semi-final.

  5. Postpublished at 17:44 British Summer Time 20 August 2016

    Durham 156-6 v Yorkshire 75-2 (9 overs)

Alex Lees joins in as he sweeps for six, bisecting two fielders patrolling the leg-side boundary. Ryan Pringle pulls the next one down shorter and Lees positions himself to lift the ball over the keeper to pick up four more runs. Durham need another wicket.

    Durham 156-6 v Yorkshire 62-2 (8 overs)

Now it's leg-spinner Scott Borthwick. Adam Lyth greets him with a reverse sweep, which is perfectly timed and runs away into a big gap for four, taking Yorkshire past 50 off 43 balls. Three balls later, Lyth rocks backs and lofts over long-off for six. A declaration of intent by the opener, who whips a single to end the over as he moves onto 40.

Powerplay over, Durham turn immediately to spin with Ryan Pringle. Yorkshire are content to take a look, just four runs from the over. Adam Lyth is 26 not out, Alex Lees has 10.

"Durham are still in this after not quite posting a big enough score.

"But the slow bowlers, Scott Borthwick and Ryan Pringle, are going to be key for them."

    Durham 156-6 v Yorkshire 43-2 (6 overs)

Usman Arshad is into the attack and his second ball flies past point off the outside edge for four runs to Alex Lees, fresh from a Roses match century, who drives the next superbly through extra cover for four. The final ball of the over is cracked straight back past the stumps by Adam Lyth as Yorkshire give a positive response to Joe Root's dismissal.

    Yorkshire 156-6 v Yorkshire 30-2 (5 overs)

Now then, Yorkshire have to regroup after the demise of their premier batsman. Nothing doing from the final two balls of the over, and there's only one left in the powerplay, with skipper Alex Lees now out in the middle with Adam Lyth.

"Oh Joe Root, what have you done?

"A short delivery from Chris Rushworth and he's just ballooned it up to square leg!

"He's a canny operator Rushworth and he knew Yorkshire would be gunning for him after that previous over from Mark Wood."

    Durham 156-6 v Yorkshire 30-2 (4.4 overs)

Joe Root has a slice of good fortune as he slogs a ball from Chris Rushworth and is relieved to see it fall into a gap off the top edge.

That's more like the Root we know and love as he cracks it square for his first boundary - although it didn't clear Ben Stokes by much, but he tries to hook the next one and top edges to square leg. Poor stuff indeed from the England batsman.

"That rain is just starting to make a bit of difference to the surface and this is high-class bowling from Mark Wood.

"Joe Root is getting a bit of a working over here. How good is this cricket?"

Mark Wood produces a beauty which flies past the outside edge of Joe Root's bat, and the next one beats him on the other side as it jags back over the stumps. Root plays and misses for a third time in succession, but finally makes contact to pinch a single from the final delivery of the over.

Joe Root is unable to get off the mark from the final ball of Chris Rushworth's over, but Yorkshire will be satisfied with their start, despite the loss of David Willey.

"David Willey was definitely struggling with that hand.

"He would've been ideally looking for something pitched-up where he could use his top hand, but Durham went for the short stuff to really test him out."

    Durham 156-6 v Yorkshire 19-0 (2 overs)

Woah, that's even quicker than Liam Plunkett earlier on as Mark Wood finds the outside edge of Adam Lyth's bat and is unlucky to see it run down to third man for one. England fans must be glad to see him back and looking in really good rhythm, but Lyth counters by lifting the ball for six over mid-wicket as Wood bangs one in short. The last ball is smeared away for four, so it's a very good over for the Tykes.

"Whenever the ball is hit at you as a bowler, you always hope it's slightly to the left or right of you, so you can give a bit.

"But, that shot earlier was right at David Willey and he couldn't take evasive action.

"Maybe he'll just go out there and try and blast as many boundaries as possible."
