Glamorgan have lost a fifth wicket before lunch, Craig Meschede caught by Danny Briggs from a David Wiese delivery.

No more wickets to tell you about since I last updated you, but Mark Cosgrove is closing in on a half-century for Leicestershire, who are 75-2 despite losing two wickets in the first over of the day.

  4. wicket

Vince out for a duckpublished at 12:37 British Summer Time 23 August 2016

    Hampshire 70-3 v Somerset

BBC Radio Solent's Kevan James told us to expect spin today at Hampshire, and it appears he was spot on with Somerset's Roelof van de Merwe picking up the wicket of Will Smith, and Jack Leach bowling England's James Vince for a duck.

Lancashire have lost their second wicket at the Oval against Surrey, Haseeb Hameed mistiming a hook and being caught out off the bowling of Stuart Meaker.

  5. wicket

Yorkshire six down v Nottspublished at 12:31 British Summer Time 23 August 2016

    Yorkshire 51-6 v Nottinghamshire

This is woeful batting from Yorkshire, Tim Bresnan the next man out as he offers no shot to Steven Mullaney and is given out lbw as the ball raps into his pads.

Just as I'm about to hit publish, Brett Hutton finds Jack Leaning's outside edge and Samit Patel takes the catch at third slip.

Hard to believe that Notts are bottom of the table as it stands.

  6. Viljoen strikes on debutpublished at 12:26 British Summer Time 23 August 2016

    Gloucestershire 60-3 v Kent

What a debut for Hardus Viljoen!

With just his second ball for Kent, the South Africa bowler gets the crucial wicket of Michael Klinger, given out lbw.

  8. Glamorgan collapse at Cardiffpublished at 12:20 British Summer Time 23 August 2016

    Glamorgan 45-4 v Sussex

Glamorgan are another side having a difficult day with the bat, Will Bragg and David Lloyd becoming the third and fourth batsmen to head back to the pavilion against Sussex.

In Division One, Durham are 37-2 after being put in to bat by Warwickshire, but Lancashire are going nicely on 50-1 at the Oval against Surrey.

  9. wicket

WICKET Ballance (lbw b Fletcher 1)published at 12:08 British Summer Time 23 August 2016

    Yorkshire 36-4 v Nottinghamshire

Yorkshire haven't lived up to expectations for much of the season in the County Championship despite still being second in the table, but this might be their worst showing yet.

Garry Ballance is pinned in front of the stumps by Luke Fletcher, leaving them 36-4 after just over an hour's play.

The hosts usually have quite a strong lower order, but that's not the case today, with Andrew Hodd the only recognised batsman left in the dressing room as Tim Bresnan comes out to the crease.

Wickets tumble at Scarboroughpublished at 12:02 British Summer Time 23 August 2016

    Yorkshire 36-3 v Nottinghamshire

Yorkshire are in all sorts of bother at Scarborough, as Steven Mullaney has first Alex Lees and then jake Lehmann caught in the slip cordon.

The visitors don't seem to be too bothered by the absence of Stuart Broad so far.

Tuesdays in the County Championship mean only one thing here at BBC Sport, the return of the themed XI to our live text coverage.

Today I'm asking you to send in cricketers related to the Olympics using #bbccricket - Steven Finn-class for example.

All credit to my esteemed colleague Tom Garry for that one, but I'm sure you can do better.

  12. Division Two round-uppublished at 11:51 British Summer Time 23 August 2016

    Northamptonshire 38-2 v Worcestershire

Northamptonshire are playing for pride in Division Two, eighth in the table and out of promotion contention this season. Fourth-placed Worcestershire may still harbour slim hopes of a late push at the top, and they've already taken the wickets of Rob Newton and Ben Duckett at New Road.

Leicestershire have steadied the ship after losing two early wickets against Essex to move on to 29-2, while Glamorgan are now 37-2 against Sussex at Cardiff.

Kent's bowlers have had a good first hour at Gloucestershire as well, as Gareth Roderick has just been dismissed lbw by Darren Stevens to make it 41-2 at Bristol.

  13. Interesting selection for Hantspublished at 11:45 British Summer Time 23 August 2016

    Hampshire 31-1 v Somerset

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent

All-rounder Sean Ervine is back in the side after injury, batting at number three for the first time in the championship this season. He takes the place of Tom Alsop, who has been left out despite hitting a career-best 93 last week at Notts.

Former Derbyshire spinner David Wainwright is making his Hants debut after being signed on a match-to-match deal, but Andy Carter is left out after his impressive performance last week.

The reason for both selections it seems, is that the wicket here is set to turn. Indeed after just 40 mins play, we are seeing the first spinner introduced

  14. wicket

WICKET Lyth (run out Mullaney 12)published at 11:39 British Summer Time 23 August 2016

    Yorkshire 21-1 v Nottinghamshire

Yorkshire lose their first at Scarborough, as bowler Steven Mullaney runs out Adam Lyth backing up at the non-striker's end.

England batsman Gary Ballance is the next man to head out to the middle for the defending champions.

  15. wicket

Somerset make early breakthroughpublished at 11:33 British Summer Time 23 August 2016

    Hampshire 21-1 v Somerset

Hampshire picked up a crucial win in their last Championship outing against Nottinghamshire to leapfrog the East Midlands side and move off the foot of the table.

They're not having the best morning after winning the toss and choosing to bat against Somerset, with Jimmy Adams' having his stumps rearranged by a Lewis Gregory delivery.

Glamorgan are struggling early on at Cardiff, losing Nick Selman with the fifth ball of the day, and seeing fellow opener Jacques Rudolph caught behind a few overs later.

  17. Grey but dry at Chester-le-Streetpublished at 11:19 British Summer Time 23 August 2016

    Durham 10-0 v Warwickshire

    Clive Eakin
    BBC Coventry & Warwickshire Sport

It's no surprise that Warwickshire have exercised their right as the away team to bowl first at Chester-le-Street.

It's a very grey and damp looking morning and already Keith Barker has been asking questions of the batsmen.

Durham's in form opener Keaton Jennings has got them on their way, taking advantage of a couple of loose balls from Chris Wright to score successive boundaries.

  18. Notts fighting for survivalpublished at 11:16 British Summer Time 23 August 2016

    Yorkshire 11-0 v Nottinghamshire

In Division One, Nottinghamshire are fighting for survival, 14 points adrift of safety at the bottom of the table.

Today they travel to Scarborough to face defending champions Yorkshire, who are 26 points behind leaders Middlesex with a game in hand.

Their prospects haven't been helped by the withdrawal from their squad of Stuart Broad, who is set to have a scan on an ankle injury today.

  19. wicket

Essex make fast startpublished at 11:12 British Summer Time 23 August 2016

    Leicestershire 6-2 v Essex

    Jamie PorterImage source, Rex Features

Alastair Cook's Essex have made a brilliant start at Leicestershire, with Jamie Porter removing Neil Dexter and Paul Horton in the first over of the game.

Essex lead the Foxes by 23 points at the top of Division Two with four games to go, and can take a huge stride towards returning to the top tier with victory at Grace Road.
