    Middlesex 95-3 v Yorkshire

I mentioned Ryan Sidebottom was having problems with his line earlier, but he's not having any problems with his figures.

Eight overs for the left-armer, just nine runs conceded.

Meanwhile at the start of Jack Brooks' next over Steve Eskinazi pulls him away to the boundary. Middlesex are just creeping into a fairly decent position here.

  2. Wicket at the Ageas Bowlpublished at 13:16 British Summer Time 20 September 2016

    Hampshire 116-2 v Durham

Hampshire lose a wicket immediately after the break as Tom Alsop edges Ryan Pringle into the safe hands of Paul Collingwood at slip.

The youngster trudges off for one and Hampshire have lost two quick wickets either side of lunch.

  3. Back under waypublished at 13:12 British Summer Time 20 September 2016

    Middlesex 90-3 v Yorkshire

Nick Gubbins continues where he left off straight after lunch, pulling Jack Brooks to the square leg boundary.

    He's up to 48.

Leicestershire 96 all out v Glamorgan - lunch

    BBC Wales' Nick Webb:

"Glamorgan's Player of the Year Timm van der Gugten ran through Leicestershire with a Championship best of 5-52, after Jacques Rudolph elected to bowl first at Grace Road.

"The conditions were not to blame as Glamorgan's seamers put the ball in the right place and saw the home side self-destruct inside 30 overs as 37-1 somehow became 64-9, with van der Gugten claiming three in one over as he passed the 50-wicket mark for the season.

"Teenager Lukas Carey claimed two in an over before Clint McKay and Charlie Shreck swung the bat agriculturally in a last-wicket stand of 32, Michael Hogan eventually having Shreck caught at third man for his season's best of 20."

  6. Slow going for Gloucestershirepublished at 12:58 British Summer Time 20 September 2016

    Gloucestershire 33-3 v Sussex - lunch

    BBC Sussex's Adrian Harms:

"Not a difficult decision for Sussex to bowl first on an overcast chilly morning in Bristol, where play was delayed for half an hour due to bad light

"And the visitors have exploited the conditions, beating the bat on numerous occasions as Gloucestershire have struggled to 33-3 at lunch from 24 overs.

"Steve Magoffin has taken one of the wickets to fall his haul for the season is now 60."

  7. Worcestershire fight back at New Roadpublished at 12:56 British Summer Time 20 September 2016

    Worcestershire 97-2 v Derbyshire - lunch

    Dave Bradley
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

"Worcestershire skipper Daryl Mitchell and in-from Joe Clarke led a Worcestershire fight back after being put in at New Road.

"Tom Milnes bowled a fine early spell, bowling Brett D’Oliveira without a run on the board.

"Tom Fell looked in form, but after lifting Milnes over mid-wicket was very well caught by Alex Hughes at third slip diving to his left for 24.

"Mitchell was his usual dogged self, with the occasional flowing drive, and he and Clarke have added 61 for the third wicket at lunch."

  8. Lancashire edge morning sessionpublished at 12:54 British Summer Time 20 September 2016

    Warwickshire 83-3 v Lancashire - lunch

    Clive Eakin
    BBC Coventry & Warwickshire Sport

"Lancashire will probably be the slightly happier of the two relegation-threatened teams at lunch at Edgbaston.

"Having put Warwickshire in they claimed a crucial third wicket just before lunch.  Jordan Clark has been all over the place in his first spell with the ball but he put one on the right spot to have Jonathan Trott caught behind for 25.

"Ian Bell is still there at lunch and Warwickshire need him to return to form to ease their fears of being in the second division next season."

  9. Hampshire make good startpublished at 12:52 British Summer Time 20 September 2016

    Hampshire 116-1 v Durham - lunch

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Newcastle

"Durham put Hampshire in but it seemed a good morning to bat, despite the misty and murky conditions and the fact the lights were on from the off.

"Jimmy Adams and former Durham man Will Smith put on 111 for the first wicket before Adams fell three overs before lunch when he played on while trying to cut Scott Borthwick.

"The spinner is playing in his last match for Durham before joining Surrey and got Adams with his seventh delivery of the day, but Smith will resume after the break on 52 - his third half century in three games against his former club, and in a game Hampshire must win to give themselves a chance to stay up."

  10. Yorkshire 'tails up' at Lord'spublished at 12:49 British Summer Time 20 September 2016

    Middlesex 84-3 v Yorkshire - lunch

    Kalika Mehta
    BBC Sport at Lord's

"Yorkshire head into lunch with their tails up having taking three crucial Middlesex wickets in their bid to retain the Championship title.

"The Division One leaders will be grateful for lapses in the field that means batsman Nick Gubbins is still at the crease.

"Overhead conditions certainly played a big part in how the morning session went and the hosts will be hoping it warms up at Lord's as they try to build up a head of steam in their title bid."

  11. Hildreth needs runnerpublished at 12:46 British Summer Time 20 September 2016

    Somerset 99-2 v Nottinghamshire - lunch

    BBC Somerset's Stephen Lamb:

"Chris Rogers and James Hildreth shared an unbroken third-wicket stand of 66 to help Somerset reach 99-2 in their must-win Championship match against Nottinghamshire at Taunton.

"The hosts lost Marcus Trescothick (25) with the total on 32, caught behind off Jake Ball, who then had Tom Abell held at midwicket by Jake Libby for eight.

"Hildreth was forced to call for a runner after being hit on the right ankle by a delivery from Ball.  All three Notts spinners, Imran Tahir, Matt Carter and Samit Patel were in action before the interval."

    Middlesex 84-3 v Yorkshire

The morning session comes to a close with Yorkshire probably just shading it.

Jack Brooks took the early wickets of Sam Robson and Nick Compton, both lbw, before David Willey removed Dawid Malan.

However, Nick Gubbins looks composed on 42 for Middlesex.

WICKET Adams (b Borthwick) 53published at 12:27 British Summer Time 20 September 2016

    Hampshire 111-1 v Durham

Hampshire opener Jimmy Adams goes just before lunch after making a fine 53.

He tries to cut one from Scott Borthwick which is a little too straight and chops onto his stumps.

Still, a very good start from Hampshire.

  17. Postpublished at 12:22 British Summer Time 20 September 2016

    Middlesex 76-3 v Yorkshire

Almost. Almost another wicket for Yorkshire! Steve Patterson finds the edge of Nick Gubbins but the ball drops just short of Adam Lyth at slip.

It was a matter of inches.

In the same over, Gubbins then edges Patterson once more but this time for four.

Mark Carter: You're determined to put the mockers on Gubbo, please stop bigging him up!

I hope not Mark, but he has looked very decent this morning. Some of his cover drives have been out of the top drawer.

  19. 'Hildreth batting on one foot'published at 12:17 British Summer Time 20 September 2016

    Somerset 78-2 v Notts

He may be hobbling around after being struck on the ankle by Jake Ball, but James Hildreth is digging in at Taunton.

The experienced batsman is onto 21. Talking of experience, skipper Chris Rogers - with 25,260 first-class runs under his belt - is on 22 at the other end.

The opener moves to his fifty off 95 balls with his ninth four.

Meanwhile at Edgbaston Warwickshire are 69-2 against Lancashire. Jonathan Trott and Ian Bell are just beginning to find their feet for the hosts.
