Why are we not attacking with spin to win this Test match?

Spinners have taken the five wickets to fall so far, so common sense says they have greater success in these conditions.

We need to "spin it to win it".

On comes Rashid. He is likely to be more expensive than Stokes but he also makes things happen. Sabbir drives at one that he doesn't quite get his front foot to and sends the ball looping just short of the man at point. The next ball darts away from the outside edge.

How much do Bangladesh want to win this tonight? They have got tomorrow, and it will get dark remember. There's only 27 overs left. It's going to be nip and tuck whether they can do it tonight. The pressure to win tonight, now there's a crowd in, could bring about a mistake.

  4. Ban 192-5published at 57 overs

These two have put on 52 now. Woakes isn't conceding many runs but he's only creating mild threat. Mushfiqur inside edges one in to his own pads but beyond that the home pair stand firm.

You often see bowlers drop their pace when bowling in the subcontinent, but Stokes has remained in the high eighties and pushing 90 miles per hour.

Roushan, London: Surely whatever happens here today Bangladesh will have silenced those who are still sceptical of Bangladesh's Test status? Great match and I hope it means longer and more frequent tours with them.

  7. Ban 191-5published at 56 overs

    95 runs required

Stokes is pumped up, full of aggression. Mushfiqur pats the ball back to him and he threatens to throw down the stumps, snarling with intent. If England don't win this it won't be because of a lack of effort on his part.

This is a big moment for Bangladesh, for them to get so close. They are putting away the bad balls and are attacking England. The little landmarks in cricket can mean so much, now they're under 100 runs.

Is anyone else actually starting to hope Bangladesh pull this off, for the sake of Test cricket?

    99 runs required

Woakes runs backwards down the track, his arms aloft in appeal for an lbw. It is full but looks to be going down leg. The umpire agrees, shaking his head in refusal. There was movement there, though. It swung in to Mushfiqur. Woakes ruins his otherwise tight over with a loose ball that flicks off Mushfiqur's legs and to the rope. Bangladesh under 100 runs to win.

    103 runs required

Stokes remains the most potent seamer on the pitch. He gives Bangladesh nothing and gets one to nip from short of a length and leave the dangled bat of Sabbir. The same player tries to pull a later ball but thigh pads the ball short of the man charging in from mid-wicket.

The twos can really add up in this situation, they alleviate pressure and help you gain momentum.

  14. Ban 182-5published at 53 overs

    104 runs required

Huge appeal from England as Woakes hits Sabbir on the pad... moment of silence... cheers from the crowd as the umpire remains unmoved. Quick running from the two batsmen adds two runs to the total from a Sabbir push to deep mid-wicket.

Nicely timed tea interval, hopefully it breaks the momentum and concentration of this pair. Getting edgy!

    Sabbir 26, Mushfiqur 22

We've got a very rare seam pairing as Stokes takes responsibility with the ball from the other end. He keeps it tight before cutting one into Mushfiqur, who turns his back and takes a blow to the kidneys. Good aggression.

What will the reaction be in Chittagong if Bangladesh win? They've only beaten West Indies and Zimbabwe in Test cricket before today.

Sabbir has been the standout for me - the fact he's been so aggressive on his debut. Bangladesh can make history here, but England still have the edge I feel.

  19. Ban 179-5published at 51 overs

Chris Woakes starts with the ball for England and starts with a maiden. There is smallest hint of away movement.

More fans in here now, expectant for a piece of Bangladesh cricket history. Will the weight of that tell on the home players?
