That's a little bit of concern for England. I'm not quite sure what's happened for Stuart Broad, rushing off after bowling three good overs.

  2. Ind 28-2published at 8 overs

Stokes will replace Broad, who darted off the pitch after his previous over. Stokes sticks to a nagging line that Pujara watches carefully past his off stump. It's in that channel that Geoffrey likes so much, but Pujara isn't nibbling. That'll be a maiden.

We're only seven overs in but I've already seen enough to say someone should get a hundred today.

  4. Ind 28-2published at 7 overs

    Anderson 1-11

Right then, Anderson v Kohli. What have they got? Kohli defends the first two before Anderson whistles down another bouncer. Kohli ducks it and Anderson contents himself with going full. The crowd of schoolkids give an almighty cheer as Kohli sees out the over.

It looks a belting pitch and the two wickets England have got have been through quality bowling.

There are one or two areas on the pitch already showing wear. Make no bones, this pitch will crumble.

Murali Vijay reached 3,000 Test runs shortly before he was out, and Cheteshwar Pujara has now done the same.

  7. Ind 28-2published at 6 overs

That was a decent bouncer from Jimmy, hitting the top of Vijay's bat, but the batsman got himself into a real tangle playing it. Broad continues and Pujara helps a ball that was sliding down leg away to the boundary. Broad lets out a yelp, and he's not overly impressed as the next ball is clipped away for a couple. Broad ends with a short ball that Pujara safely ducks underneath.

I said Broad bowled beautifully for his wicket and that was lovely bowling from Anderson. He's bounced him a couple of times and hit him on the glove. It's a bowler's wicket, thoroughly earned.

I know Kohli's been in good form and playing well but Anderson got him out when they were in England. He'll know that.

    Vijay c Stokes b Anderson 20 (Ind 22-2)

The short ball has worked for Jimmy. His first ball was wide, and Vijay leant into it and drove it to the boundary. So Jimmy goes short. One whips past Vijay's chin, a length ball is defended then Vijay tries to fend another short one down towards gully. It bounces up off the bat and Stokes darts forward to take the catch.

Visakhapatnam is the 111th Test ground and the 24th in India. No country has hosted Test cricket at more venues than India.

Interesting that we have heard so much about Mishra destroying New Zealand on this wicket (admittedly in a one-dayer) yet he has been left out!

Shot. Vijay greets Broad by leaning into a cover drive that races away to the boundary. It's a quick outfield. That said, there's no stopping that as Vijay thuds a half-volley past a tumbling Broad. Pujara has a cursory prod of the pitch as Broad gets to his feet, before the batsmen trade singles.

  13. England women win the tosspublished at 04:18 Greenwich Mean Time 17 November 2016

Fourth ODI, Sri Lanka v England

Meanwhile in Colombo, England women have had more luck with the toss than the men and will bat first in the fourth and final one-day international against Sri Lanka.

Heather Knight's side are seeking a 4-0 series whitewash.

  14. Ind 9-1published at 3 overs

Vijay contents himself with blocking the first half of Anderson's over, before he drives towards Broad and sets off for a single. A cracking, one-handed dive from Broad has him momentarily worried, but he makes his ground. Jimmy sends down a short ball that has Pujara swaying out of the way, but it fizzles through to Bairstow at chest height.

Micky-boy: Looks like an Ike & Tina pitch for this Test match. Need Jimmy to bag some earlies so we restrict them.

Christopher Galton: Looking forward to this one. Nice to see Jimmy back but spinners will excited with this wicket. Listening in from Nova Scotia!

  17. Ind 8-1published at 2 overs

That was a clever over from Broad, getting Rahul to come forward before having an uncertain prod forward. Pujara gets off the mark with his first ball, a nurdle past Hameed at short leg.

Beautiful bowling. The whole over he aimed at that corridor of uncertainty outside off stump. He brought him forward, perfect length and easy catch to third slip. The bowling was quality.

    Rahul c Stokes b Broad 0 (Ind 6-1)

As usual, it's Broad from the other end, and he's got the early breakthrough for England! He brings Rahul forward and forward, before Rahul pushes forward and the ball kisses the outside edge. Stokes takes a smart catch at third slip, and Rahul departs for a duck on his return.

One of the keys for England... yes, you can bowl well but you have to catch. If you have a day like India did on the first day of the first Test then you're up against it. England need to bowl well and not let India get millions of runs.
