  1. England reviewpublished at 41.1 overs

    Ind 130-2

Moeen Ali strikes Pujara on the pad. Umpire Rod Tucker isn't interested but England send for a review...

  2. Ind 130-2published at 41 overs

Stokes' radar goes a bit awry as he fires three deliveries well down leg - Pujara just lets them go. The all-rounder then overcompensates and drops short outside off - it sits up and demands to be smacked. Pujara rocks onto the back foot and obliges to pick up three.

Jarleth Eaton: As much as I love Root, no doubt that Kohli is the best batsman in the world. Can play any innings, and footwork is superb.

  5. Ind 127-2published at 40 overs

    Pujara 51, Kohli 56

The first - overdue? - bowl for Moeen Ali, replacing Rashid. It's a solid start, just one from his opening over.

Some bowlers find it tough because it turns slowly and unpredictably. The good players can manage that, such as Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly.

  7. 50 runs

50 to Pujarapublished at 39 overs

    Ind 126-2

Pujara moves to his 50 now with a push through the off-side off Stokes and that's also the 100 partnership - he and Kohli have added 103 from 204 balls.

Kohli is looking all business out there, practising his forward defensive between deliveries and adjusting his gloves. There are big runs to be had.

Pujara has got a huge appetite for batting. He loves it.

  9. Ind 118-2published at 38 overs

A strangled shout from Rashid as Pujara paddle-sweeps one down to fine leg off middle stump - the Yorkshireman thought he'd got through him for a split-second but instead it's three runs to the total. Kohli then adds three of his own.

Kohli has just got the knack of playing the pressure card. He knows how to keep himself calm and controlled -  he doesn't get caught up in the moment. He just plays the ball - it's a great lesson for any youngster.

Just one more to Pujara from Stokes' fifth over. The partnership is now 90 and you feel it could get much, much bigger than that.

Kohli's fifty came in 124 minutes, off 87 balls. It is only his second fifty in 20 innings against England - after he made 103 in Nagpur in 2012.

    Ind 111-2

Ben Stokes replaces Anderson and Kohli moves to his fifty with a dab into the leg side, which prompts a high-pitched yell from the schoolchildren who have got in free and are making up the majority of the crowd in Visakhapatnam.

  14. Ind 110-2published at 36 overs

Kohli moves to 49 with a quick single from a little push into the off side off Rashid. Just 18 runs off the eight overs so far in this session. Four of those came from the first ball after the resumption.

  15. Ind 108-2published at 35 overs

Just the one to Pujara off Anderson's latest. That's the only run off his last three overs as he tries to build scoreboard pressure.

There's a theory about Indian batsman at home - if they don't get those boundaries every now and again, they will try and do something a little more adventurous.

  17. Ind 107-2published at 34 overs

    Pujara 39, Kohli 48

Hello, was that some turn from Rashid? Yep, quite sharp and Kohli was nowhere near it. It kept low too. A sign of terrors to come later in the game?

If you're just waking up, you may have guessed that India won the toss but England managed to remove both openers - KL Rahul and Murali Vijay - within the first five overs. Rahul edged Broad to Stokes at third slip for a duck in the second over, while Stokes was in the same position to pouch a loopy catch after Vijay gloved an Anderson short one. From 22-2, though, Pujara and Kohli have accumulated with few alarms, apart from some dodgy running that threatened to gift England a third wicket.

Big appeal for lbw from Anderson off Pujara but that's optimistic - his pad was well outside off stump. Still, England's attack leader is into his groove, tempting them outside off. You wouldn't know he hasn't bowled competitively since August. Another maiden.

England will have to build some dots to force the error. It's the right way to go on good pitches - stick to the basics, stop the boundaries and force the batsmen to panic.

  20. Ind 105-2published at 32 overs

Sublime from Kohli, flicking his wrists again - this time he drives through the covers off Rashid for another four. That's the 100 up for India and this partnership is now worth 83.
