Cheers, Steph. We've just cracked into the chocolate supply to get us through the evening session.
I'm off for some nuclear-strength coffee. Here's Amy Lofthouse.

Bill Ainsworth: Obvious way forward for England now is to play six wicketkeepers and five bowlers. Job done.
Pete Corrigan: I've said all along Buttler and Bairstow should both play. They are excellent in sub-continent conditions.
If you're just waking up, you've missed an England batting horror show, followed by a pretty decent rescue act. Cook, Root, Moeen and Stokes are all on the naughty step, but potentially having their bacon saved by Bairstow and comeback kid Buttler. At 205-5 on a decent deck, England are still miles away from being able to say they took advantage of winning the toss.

A high-class team would have made 450, 500 on here. England still might do but it will take a monumental effort. You can't keep gifting wickets. The four wickets they've gifted - the dismissals have been poor and they will know that. They also know India will have to last that on a pitch, by day three and four, will be much more difficult.

I hope all you that consistently told us that Barstow was not good enough for Test cricket hang your heads now. Can we also admit he is not just in a rich temporary vein of form but is class? I hope this text doesn't get him bowled!

Cook and Root considered the best but I think Bairstow is the best batsman in this England side.

This session just showed you the type of pitch this it. It's flat, there's not a great deal happening and the outfield is quick. England have got to capitalise. India will be thinking if they can win the last session and bowl England out, they will be absolutely delighted.
England get through to the interval at the end of what has been a decent session for the tourists - 113 runs and only one wicket. Still, 205-5 is far from great on this deck and they are only one wicket away from being in big danger of being rolled for under 300. Plenty more to be done by the pair of JBs.

G'day. Had fish and chips last night! Qualifies me to bat at number three for you guys surely. What goes round...

Bairstow 65, Buttler 36
Jos Buttler is starting to drive like Lewis Hamilton. First off the pacers, now with an open face to send Jadeja square for four. They should have recalled him ages ago. One more over to go before the tea break.

Whisper it quietly, but Jos Buttler is starting to show flashes of what was hoped he would bring to this side. New bowler Mohammed Shami serves up a wide half-volley that Buttler gobbles through the covers for four. He's already done enough for no one to question his inclusion for the next Test.

England's average for the sixth-wicket partnership in 2016 is currently 78.03.

A good move this. Ravi Jadeja is back to rip his left-armers past the right-handers. Buttler didn't look certain against him earlier. Three catchers crowd the bat, but Jos is looking much more assured after an hour or so at the crease.

England will be hoping that the tail wags. It's a batting order that goes deep. With someone like Buttler, I think as a batsman the first innings of pre season was always the best. You've got no memories and no worries to think about.
This has been a good spell by Umesh. England will be glad to see the back of him. By riding the storm they have silenced what little crowd is inside the ground. Buttler is doing the minimum amount of foot movement he can get away with, but his defence is yet to be breached. When Umesh over-pitches, Buttler plays one of those sweet cover drives. There are 15 minutes to go before tea.

Bairstow has played the spinners well throughout the series. He's played fairly orthodox. Once he's in he will look to sweep a little bit. He's been looking quite composed at the crease.
Bairstow 62, Buttler 19
Here we go, Jos Buttler is starting to dip into the box of tricks. The first reverse sweep of the day is stopped at backward point. Bairstow, meanwhile, continues to conventionally sweep anything that moves. The stand between these two keepers is worth 38.

Roy Taylor: '80s Power Ballards. I'm thinking Whitesnake's "Here I Go Again".
Arjun Sohanpal: Not a ballad by any stretch, but India surely singing "Another One Bites the Dust" now.
Sarah Wolstencroft: Currently making a cricket-themed cake, let's hope that both the cake and England can hold on till tea.
