Stuart Broad off, Jake Ball on, but the plan remains the same. Fire the ball down the tube outside off stump. Make them blink before you do. Ball returns with a maiden. There's about 25 minutes to go until tea.

Nair, though, is having problems against Rashid. Twice in the previous over he failed to pick the googly, now he has edged past slip. Rashid's problem, however, is that he can't do it ball after ball. A half-tracker is pulled, leaving Jos Buttler with work to do on the leg-side boundary.

Australia must be scenting victory over Pakistan in the day-night Test at Brisbane. Midway through day four, after an earlier rain interruption, the tourists have slumped from 145-2 to 178-5 chasing a theoretical 490.

England will hope to get a lead of 100 but it will take some doing because the pitch has not deteriorated at all. The only way they can win the game is to give themselves at least three sessions at the Indians.

I'm not a fan of this kind of wicketkeeping. Jonny Bairstow, standing back, takes the ball and rolls it at the stumps when he sees Karun Nair out of his crease. A bit village. If you want to stump someone, stand up. Nair, in need of a score in his third Test, plays the most handsome of straight drives back past Broad for four.

Liam Dawson's long spell is finally over, with Adil Rashid back in the attack. Not at his best this morning, Rashid has the field spread, with Rahul dancing to go inside-out over cover. The Yorkshire leggie already has his hands on his hips, contemplating the injustice of it all.

I think it's important now Kohli has gone for Rahul to start concentrating again and look to get the runs that Kohli and Pujara missed out on. When a bowler goes round the wicket the batsman tends to open his shoulders and there is a chance you can slice across the line.

It's been relentless stuff from the lanky, lithe Stuart Broad, the sort England have been missing in the past two Tests. To go back to the Kohli wicket, there's not many players where such genuine surprise greets their dismissal. Kohli has reached that status in this series. More good stuff from Broad. Off-stump and outside, accuracy, asking the India batsmen if they have the patience.

'Vi rat controls the Cook'. A tiny Virat Kohli is placed under a chef's hat on top of Alistair Cook's head to recreate scenes from the film Ratatouille. Gastronomic hilarity ensues.

Looking at the replay of the Kohli dismissal, England took advantage of the skipper's eagerness to reach for the ball. Wide of off stump, wide of off stump, wide of off stump. Eventually, he popped a catch to Jennings. If England feel that their spinners have lacked control in this series, then Dawson is providing a modicum. He's only conceded three boundaries in his 13 overs.

Kohli now has 655 in the series but his average has dropped to 109.16! He's going to need 120 in his second innings if he wants to go past Sunil Gavaskar's India record of 774 in a series.

And, you know what, Liam Dawson deserves his share of the credit there. For all my moaning that he shouldn't have been on, he played his part in holding up an end while Broad probed. Bowling in partnerships. Karun Nair is the new man.

They just try and tie you down so you make a mistake so England and Broad have done very well there, they've worked for that. We could all see what has been planned but when it comes off it's terrific.

Absolutely brilliant from Stuart Broad, who has done Virat Kohli like beans on toast. One ball round the wicket, then over, then back round. Pushed full outside the off stump, a little cutter, Kohli driving straight to Keaton Jennings at short cover. Chennai falls silent as the home hero departs. England have a half a sniff here.

Outstanding work, Anton. I suspect Soul Limbo has probably been played at a few parties. Maybe even weddings and funerals. Liam Dawson is still bowling. It's tidy enough, even the odd bit of turn and bounce. The chance to bowl a frontliner at Kohli has probably passed now.

Kohli, 650-odd runs to the good in this series, once again looks like a man who is going to fill his boots. Short-sleeved shirt revealing tattooed arms, trimmed beard, trigger movement that takes him across his stumps. Defending Broad, a leave, sound judgement. I'll be honest, I've seen him bat enough this winter.
