South Africa will be really flat. They deny claims that they are chokers, but they know their record, and losing games like that when you should have won means in your own self-conscious you start to believe that title of being chokers.

  3. England take unassailable 2-0 series leadpublished at 19:00 British Summer Time 27 May 2017

Mark Wood finished with figures of 10-0-48-0 in a match that saw 658 runs.

A stellar effort from the England quick.

Wood the hero with the ball, his Durham team-mate and good friend Ben Stokes the hero with the bat.

  4. ENGLAND WIN BY 2 RUNSpublished at 18:57 British Summer Time 27 May 2017

I have no idea how David Miller and Chris Morris didn't get over the line.

That last ball wasn't even Mark Wood's best - it was a delivery similar to those that Morris had earlier smited to the boundary.

But Wood built the pressure superbly during that final over. Expert death bowling with a series of well-directed short-pitched deliveries.

That's a right sickener for South Africa but a truly joyous win for England that bodes well for their Champions Trophy challenge.

That's a brilliant series win and on the brink of a major tournament in this country it's a fantastic win from that situation. Somehow Jake Ball and Mark Wood have only gone for a run a ball - quite brilliant death bowling.

South Africa can't believe they haven't won that. England have snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.

  6. ENGLAND WIN BY 2 RUNSpublished at 50 overs

    SA 328-5

    Howay the lad!

Mark Wood finishes off a quite brilliant final over with yet another back-of-a-length ball that Chris Morris misjudges with an ugly heave across the line.

It flicks off his edge and leg but only runs away for one.

England win by two runs after Durham quick Wood conceded only four off the final over.

They also win the series against the world number one ODI side. What a finish!

  8. SA need four to winpublished at 49.5 overs

Oh my lord! Wood fires another one into the pitch and Morris swipes wildly, misses and Buttler gathers.

England go up, appealing for caught behind but the umpire is unmoved. No reviews left.

To the final ball we go...

  9. SA need four to winpublished at 49.4 overs

David Miller nearly clears out the square leg umpire with a pull shot - it misses Chris Gaffaney by a whisker and is gathered on the boundary. Just a single. Four needed from two.

  10. SA need five to winpublished at 49.3 overs

Wood follows Miller stepping well down leg and fires it through - Miller cannot connect.

Superb delivery from Wood. Nail-biting finish,

  11. SA need five to winpublished at 49.2 overs

Chris Morris now can only get a single with his pull.

It's only a run a ball but a wicket is massive. A new man coming in might panic and then all of a sudden seven runs seems a long way away. But England do need a bit of magic from the bowler.

  14. SA need six to winpublished at 49.1 overs

Mark Wood is the man for England, his first is swiped away to fine leg by David Miller. Just a single.

  15. SA need seven to winpublished at 49 overs

    Target 331

Jake Ball, who's been poor today, finishes well as least as Chris Morris can only inside edge it onto his pads as Jos Buttler mops up.

    No run.

Seven needed off the final over.

    A time for heroes.

  16. Not outpublished at 48.5 overs

    SA need seven to win

And yep, it's going well down leg. Was just a tactical review from Morgan really to allow his side to regroup. South Africa need seven from seven.

  17. Umpire reviewpublished at 48.5 overs

Miller swipes at a length ball but misses as it raps his pads and he jogs through.

No one goes up for the lbw shout but Eoin Morgan decides to send it upstairs anyway.

There is little to nothing going for this shout.

  18. SA need eight to winpublished at 48.4 overs

A run a ball will do as Morris flicks Ball away for another single.

  19. SA need nine to winpublished at 48.3 overs

Miller takes a single. He's happy to put Morris on strike, who has proved a much more useful foil than Behardien was.

  20. SA need 10 to winpublished at 48.2 overs

David Miller marmalises Jake Ball on the cut shot through point for four.

It's all but over now, surely?
