I know Jason Roy was enjoying himself out there, but he should have given himself at least one ball to have a look at the new bowler. He had the momentum running for him, he didn't need to go sweeping.
Roy lbw Phehlukwayo 28 (Eng 45-1)
Why, Jason, why? He has just taken Parnell apart but for some reason tries to reverse slap the first ball from new bowler Andile Phehlukwayo and is trapped bang in front. Crazy shot choice.
Target 143
Four. Parnell veers to leg stump and is flicked away to the rope at fine leg by Roy's pad. Six. Roy takes a stride and absolutely belts the ball down the ground. Four. Big swing and a top edge clears the keeper. Four. Four. Four. Single to keep the strike.
Roy is batting himself back into form as England look to end this quick style.
Hales tries to hit through the line from Smuts' last ball and is fortunate that his bat speed sees the ball just clear the in-field.
Fetch! Roy drops to one knee and sweeps Smuts high and deep into the stand, where it is caught by a young fan. Top snare.
Earlier, young leggy Mason Crane bowled four superb debut overs, going for just 24 runs...

Wayne Parnell has got a slower ball which is really slow. It almost bounces twice before it gets to you.
England are quickly into the boundary game as Wayne Parnell digs in his second ball and Alex Hales slaps it away decisively through mid-wicket.
Hales is already dancing around his crease, trying to buy himself a yard of room to swing. No pressure on England.

Only Australia have made less than South Africa's 142 when only losing three wickets in their innings. They lost that game, against Sri Lanka.
Target 143
After playing on first ball with the bat, JJ Smuts starts with the ball. He can't say he hasn't been given the chance to shine.
His left-arm spin is gentle but he is able to prevent England's openers getting off to a flyer.
England Lions v South Africa A
This is not the only England v SA cricket encounter taking place today. The Lions are taking on Proteas A in a four-day game. Day one has closed with the Lions 302-7. Haseeb Hameed was out for a duck but 77 from Ben Foakes has left England in decent shape.
Now then Jason Roy, we know you can do it. This would be a nice time to remind us of that fact. The SA team huddle together for a late motivational chat as Roy and Hales move to the crease...

South Africa have left too much talent in the shed. England made South Africa look ordinary there.
If you had told me AB De Villiers would bat through from the second ball onwards, it would have been a very conservative estimate to say he would score 65. Here is one of his finer shots...
BBC Radio 5 live
Over on BBC Radio 5 live this evening, there's a special programme previewing the Women's World Cup which gets under way this weekend. You can listen here, from 20:30 BST.
Hosts England, by the way, hammered New Zealand by seven wickets in a warm-up match at Derby earlier today.

Jon Dunn: Never seen so many catches fall just short. England unlucky, could have been even better!
Strange innings. This is apparently a belting pitch, but at times South Africa made it look like a minefield. Proteas have achieved their highest fourth wicket partnership in T20s, with AB De Villiers at the crease from the second ball of the match, and yet they have only set 143 to win.
Here is one of their better shots of the innings, courtesy of AB.

South Africa should be 160-6 or 170-7, not 142-3.
We end with a single, crashed to deep cover by Behardien. That'll do pig, that'll do. Advantage England.
