  1. Eng 45-1published at 5 overs

    Target 175

Roy keeps the boundaries coming with a pulled four past the man at short fine leg off new bowler Dane Paterson. Bairstow sends the ball in the same direction soon after, flickign aerially off his legs over Morkel and away to the rope. If you can clear Morne, you can clear anyone.

Here is the one England wicket to fall so far...

Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy are the two best batsmen in the world at holding the pose after hitting a shot.

  3. Eng 35-1published at 4 overs

    Target 175

Morris has some wheels on him as well. He keeps Bairstow trapped and scoreless at the striker's end for five balls. But the Yorkshire player is not a man to be tied down and he finishes with a flourish by driving exquisitely through extra for four.

Jason Roy is slogging everything, he's having a real mow. He's found the bottom edge twice and it's brought him two boundaries.

  5. Eng 31-1published at 3 overs

    Target 175

The in-form Jonny Bairstow is in but this over is all about Jason Roy and not because of his supreme stroke-play. Two big swings and two inside edges could easily have bowled the England opener, but instead they bring him four down to fine leg.

He won't complain at a bit of luck but his intention was to smash the ball to the opposite stand.

To illustrate his frustration, bowler Morkel fires a short 89mph ball right past Roy's nose.

The batsman has the final word, though, flicking off his legs for one four and then cutting behind square for another.

That was a weird shot from Sam Billings.

  7. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 2 overs

    Billings c Miller b Morris 3 (SA 15-1)

This is all pace. After Roy scores England's first boundary, he hands over to Billings, who goes back to try and pull a short ball but finds it on him before he is through the shot and can only look on in horror as the ball loops to David Miller, charging in on the off side.

That is the breakthrough SA wanted.

This is it for Jason Roy. With no Hales, England need him to perform. Give us your best, young man!

  9. Eng 5-0published at 1 over

England are off the mark straight away as Roy flicks the giant Morkel's first ball off his pads for a single. Billings follows suit soon after with his own little drop and run.

Roy swings big at Morkel but is beaten by the steep bounce the bowler can generate but gets two with a back-foot punch down the ground next ball. Another single makes it a modest start for England.

Tom Curran is the fifth England player to take three wickets on his international T20 debut. The others are David Willey, Liam Dawson, Mark Wood and Jon Lewis.

Ex-Gloucestershire seamer Lewis' figures of 4-24 against Australia in 2005 are the best.

It's been an impressive debut for Tom Curran. The Surrey seamer finishes with figures of 4-0-33-3.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Curran said: "My beans were going a little bit but I'm delighted with the way it's gone. I was off on one when I got the first wicket, it was just brilliant.

"With the field I set, it was either going yorkers or slower balls. There's a bit of pace in the pitch."

He hits it for four! That was nicely done, up and over the covers, and South Africa finish their innings on 174-8.

Sometimes things can get out of hand at the end but it hasn't happened for South Africa. England will be pleased. I can't understand why South Africa have turned down runs here.

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 19.5 overs

Behardien lbw Jordan 32 (SA 170-8)

Not a doubt in the umpire's mind. The finger is up in a flash as Jordan traps Behardien bang in front. Morkel will have to continue his watching brief from the non-striker's end.

  18. SA 170-7published at 19.3 overs

That's a dot ball from Chris Jordan, a decent length and Behardien's swipe misses. It's not been Jordan's best day.

  19. 6 runs

    SA 170-7published at 19.2 overs

See you later. That is enormous. You can see now why Behardien stayed where he was as he hammers Jordan into the flats for six.

  20. SA 164-7published at 19.1 overs

Chris Jordan will bowl the final over. Farhaan Behardien has a big swipe, there's an easy single there for South Africa - and they opt against it! Surely every run at this stage is crucial?
