Liam Plunkett looks 20 years younger now he's shaved his beard. It's been about five years since his last shave!

Smuts has got some really good starts and has looked powerful but he hasn't been able to go on in any of the three matches.

The short stuff does the job again!

Plunkett bangs another one in and Smuts tries to pull but skies the ball to fine leg.

Great bowling from Plunkett. What a threat he has become for England.

  5. SA 59-2published at 9 overs

    Target 182

You'd forgive Mason Crane for being a little nervous. The 20-year-old is facing AB de Villiers in a series decider.

De Villiers frees his arms and smacks a boundary over the off side but the 20-year-old comes back well. A good battle.

South Africa have a wonderful record in ODI bilateral series deciders. They've played 16 or 17 of them and won 14. One was rained off. It makes their struggles in ICC knockout matches even more perplexing.

  7. SA 50-2published at 8 overs

    Target 182

Liam Plunkett is bowling back of the length in this eighth over.

It's too working as both batsman struggle to time the ball with De Villiers almost spooning a catch back to the bowler.

That's good. De Villiers skips down looking to go big but Plunkett follow him, lasering the ball onto his toes this time. A good over, just three from it.

It is no surprise the Yorkshire bowler using the short stuff. That's what did for Chris Morris...

    Target 182

England's young leg-spinner Mason Crane into the attack now. He was impressive on debut in the first T20 but that's not the best of starts.

    A four swept by Smuts.

Good comeback from the young lad. Just five from the rest of the over to minimalise the damage.

AB de Villiers had a chat with Smuts after the appeal for caught-behind and now the opener is playing differently and looking a lot more assured.

He's definitely hit that. A huge six over mid-wicket.

Smuts goes again! Four this time over extra cover.

Ultraedge shows there was a sound on that previous appeal as the ball went past the bat...

    Howzat!!?

Liam Plunkett thinks he's got Smuts caught behind. The opener throws everything into a pull but doesn't connect - or at least the umpire doesn't think he did. There was a noise but I'm not sure.

The pressure is already starting to build on South Africa's middle order.

I know this sounds strange, but I don't think this ground will suit AB de Villiers. It's long width ways. AB likes it the opposite, where it's long straight and short wide.

  14. SA 26-2published at 5 overs

AB de Villiers walks out to the crease. This is what the locals came to see. The crowd are getting behind England.

Alex Hales does well to field in the deep again. Big cheers.

Is that one four? No! Another good stop, this time from Liam Livingstone.

Chris Jordan is a very aggressive bowler when you're up against him. He bowls with real pace and there's never a smile.

Jordan has done him for pace. The ball was high on the bat and it's a good catch from Alex Hales on the boundary.

  17. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 4.2 overs

    Morris c Hales b Jordan 8 (SA 22-2)

Chris Jordan into attack and gets a wicket second ball!

It's not a great delivery in truth.

Morris swivels and pulls the ball into the air but doesn't get enough on it and Alex Hales takes a good catch leaning back on the rope, just managing to stay inside.

  18. SA 21-1published at 4 overs

Tom Curran starts his over as the Spice Girls is played over the PA system in Cardiff. He's only 22, they'll be before his time.

Curran starts well again before he drops a little short and Morris cuts him for the first boundary off the bat of the innings.

The batsman misses out on the last ball of the over as he finds fine leg with a shot off his pads. A yard either side and that was four.

Still, a decent start for Curran. He was the man to make the breakthrough.

Chris Morris is more than just a pinch-hitter. He can bash it around but I've also seen him construct excellent innings in Test cricket. This is a good move by South Africa.

  20. SA 13-1published at 3 overs

    Smuts 6 Morris 1

    What's this?

Chris Morris comes out at number three for South Africa. That's a surprise.

Tidy over from David Willey. Just the two from it.
