Liam Plunkett did the right thing. He had one ball to face - he tried to hit it as far as he could. I don't mind that.

Plunkett c Miller b Phehlukwayo 0 (Eng 178-6)
England are crumbling.
Liam Plunkett goes for the big shot over the leg side but only finds the safe hands of Miller.
What a shot!
Full and wide from Phehlukwayo but Buttler uses his wrists to flick the ball into the stands.
Brilliant strength.
Right then, England are very much relying on Jos Buttler.
Liam Plunkett does well to run three twos of first three balls of Phehlukwayo's final over.
Keep the stand-in captain on strike.
The hat-trick ball is a yorker, hammered in at Liam Plunkett's toes, but Plunkett does well to get his bat underneath it and shovel the ball away. He's broken the toe of his bat in the process, too.

I question the shot choice. I understand you need to be proactive but give yourself a chance by playing straight.
Livingstone b Paterson 0 (Eng 166-5)
Oh dear, Liam Livingstone.
On his first ball the Lancashire batsman tries to scoop Paterson over fine leg on one knee but is clean bowled.
Yes runs are needed and he probably backs himself to hit that shot but I'm not sure about that.

Dane Paterson has got good pace and bowls a very useful yorker. It's not easy to get any elevation on the ball for the batsman. The 200 is still on, but England are likely to reach the 190 mark instead.
Billings c De Villiers b Paterson 12 (Eng 166-4)
Billings gone!
That was up and down from Sam Billings and eventually ends when he chips Paterson off the toe-end straight to AB be Villiers in the covers.
Billings 12 Buttler 18
Billings is struggling. He gets down on one knee and tries to sweep seamer Paterson for four but misses again.
Be quiet, Matthew. Struggling? Same shot. This time six. Billings finally gets what he was looking for.
Here's Somerset coach Matthew Maynard on the exclusion of Craig Overton, who had been told he would play at some point in the series only to be left on the sidelines.
Billings 6 Buttler 18
Buttler goes again! He knew the short one was coming and heaves Phehlukwayo for four more.
That shot wouldn't have been on the contents page of Geoffrey's Guide to Batting but they all count, ey?
Phehlukwayo does a good job on the last ball with a slow - and I mean slow - bouncer and Buttler can't do anything with that.
We hear a lot about the talent of Sam Billings but he has never quite delivered for England.
He only connects with fresh air on the first two balls of Phehlukwayo's third over before scuffing a single down the ground.
Whack! That's what England needed. Classic Jos Buttler. Fast hands and be pummels a full delivery over mid-off for six.
Billings 5 Buttler 8
Yep. Hawkeye shows that should have been given.
How important could that be? Both Billings and Buttler could be destructive in these final overs after the platform set by Dawid Malan before his dismissal...

When Tahir doesn't get a decision from the umpire, his expression is one of a man who has had £20 stolen from him.
I reckon this was out.
Buttler comes down the pitch to Tahir and is struck on the pad by a leggie that doesn't turn. As ever the South African's appeal is loud - bordering on pleading - in the umpire's direction but not out is the response.
In the end the ball runs away for four leg byes.
Billings 4 Buttler 2
Buttler and Billings see off Chris Morris' fourth and final over with some more conventional pushes into the off side.
Morris finishes with 4-0-24-0. Tidy but no wickets.

I've just got home from a church picnic and, as a Somerset member, I can't believe that Craig Overton has not been given a debut in this series, as the ECB said all the new players would get to play at least one match.
Christopher Bowyer
Dawid Malan has been the star of this innings. He smashed boundaries all over the shop while Alex Hales never really looked comfortable.
In the end Hales was caught in the deep by an excellent effort from David Miller...
