Chris Heselwood: Stokes looks in the mood here. Loves batting against SA. Plus a bit of needle with Rabada... exciting times.

Jack Byrne‏: Bairstow & Stokes batting together is like when Flintoff & Geraint Jones got together heading towards second new ball. Great stuff.

It has been tremendous counter-attacking from England. Once the wicket of Cook fell nearing that new ball you felt South Africa had a chance but Morris bowled some bowling machine deliveries to get Stokes going.

Rabada charges in again, but Stokes helps himself to a two through the off side and a scampered three off his legs.

What was going through your mind when Jenny Gunn dropped that catch with nine wickets down?

England's World Cup-winning captain Heather Knight on TMS: "Poor Jen. I think she had too much time to think about it. She reminded me that I dropped a catch as well. Alex Hartley had already turned to the crowd to celebrate but thankfully we did it the next ball."

Dave Fassam: I wonder if Joe Root asked for a pitch this green? Philander v Anderson on this pitch is going to be the key.

England's World Cup-winning captain Heather Knight on TMS: "It's been a bit mental, this is one of my first days off watching the Test as a punter. I was up the Shard at 8am the day after the final and didn't get home until 9pm. I still haven't properly got my voice back from the final, as I was having to shout to speak to girls five metres from me because of the noise."

Du Plessis pushes mid-on back to long-on - but with the option of a single there, Bairstow unleashes a more fluent sweep shot which brings another four to take his tally to 23 from 30 balls.

    Bairstow 19 from 27 balls

With nine overs until the new ball, it's our first sight of spin today as slow left-armer Keshav Maharaj takes over at the Vauxhall End. Bairstow lofts a sweep over the square-leg umpire for four, then drills one between the bowler and non-striker for four more.

Neil Burniston: Let's not forget Stokes and Bairstow put on 399 against South Africa just last year.

Francis Edwards‏: Stokes reminds me of Buttler. He has very quiet periods but then once in a while does something freakish. Needs to get consistent.

    Stokes 48, Bairstow 11

TMS have a special visitor to the box - England's World Cup-winning captain Heather Knight. On the field, Morris' line and length continues to be all over the place, Stokes hooks a single and is closing in on a half-century, while Bairstow is into double figures with another cover-driven four. Morris has gone for 17 in two overs today, plus a leg bye which ends the over.

A double change as Philander - who may be off the field for longer this time - is replaced by Kagiso Rabada, who produced that brutal yorker to Dawid Malan yesterday, and the Proteas will be hoping he's got more like that up his sleeve. Bairstow and Stokes pick up a couple of singles, though Rabada earns a round of applause from his captain when he gets one to spit off the pitch and has Bairstow fending it off in self-defence.
