Westley is moving well, he has left the ball well, everyone has technical issues but I have been impressed with him, he has good energy in his batting, but someone like Jennings you can bowl to all day.

And here's how it ended for Jennings:

A single from Westley means it's time for captain Joe Root to take centre stage. Two slips and a gully in for the England skipper, who sees off the rest of the over.

Our very own Henry Moeran took this photo at The Oval late last night. The groundstaff have done a miraculous job to get the ground back into tip-top shape. Do they work around the clock?

It was an effort ball from Rabada, it stood on Jennings and he didn't get his hands out of the way in that quirky no movement position he has.

    Jennings c Morris b Rabada 48 (Eng 92-2)

Just when there was a sniff of a half-century in the air, Rabada digs one in to Jennings, he can't pull out of the shot in time and he only succeeds in popping up a catch to gully.

The wicket actually looks a bit slower this morning, it had a bit more zip carrying through to the keeper yesterday. Maybe it's just that my eyes are a bit slow this morning.

Jennings has now passed the number of runs he had previously scored in the whole of the series, he made 44 in the first five innings.

    25 overs

Jennings guides Morkel for a four past third slip, all along the ground - Graeme Smith on TMS wonders how many runs have leaked through third man in this series. A much more positive square-drive brings him four more, backward of point. Another confident drive is stopped inside the rope by Heino Kuhn, who aquaplanes across the outfield on his bottom after he's halted the ball (it appears some of the outfield is still slightly damp) - and it allows the batsmen to run three. Jennings has 48 from 72 balls.

At Lord's, Rabada bowled from the Nursery End and here, from the Vauxhall End, I'm surprised they have never mixed it up.

James Presland‏: Am I the only one that wouldn't mind just seeing England bat for as long as possible to give our middle order some practice?

Graeme Smith has implied he wouldn't mind more rain and more time taken out of the game...

Vernon Philander, who's been off the field for most of the last two days with illness (and spent Friday night in hospital on a drip), is on the field this morning, but has not been asked to bowl yet as Rabada continues. And Jennings continues to pick off one single at a time.

My first tour of England was in 2003 and it was heatwave time, I remember we used to arrive at hotels and there would only be three cooling fans available so there was a stampede for them.

Morne Morkel takes up the attack from his favoured Pavilion End, going round the wicket to the left-handed Jennings. He bowled very well yesterday afternoon before the rain hit. Jennings nudges another single.

Morkel's delivery to bowl Cook - a fast bowler's perfect delivery, hitting the top of off stump - is worth another look.

Keaton Jennings leaves the first ball of the day, and earns some warm applause as he prods forward to the second and the ball squirts out backward of square leg for a single. His partner Tom Westley is hit on the pad by the first delivery he receives... hits him on the knee-roll and South Africa appeal, but don't seriously think about a review. England then benefit to the tune of four leg byes when Rabada strays down the leg side.
