England captain Joe Root: "It looks a good wicket. We have had success here batting first so hopefully we can build a good platform and do the same here. There's no changes to the team. I was really pleased with how everyone played last week, so we have to back it up now."
England are unchanged, but there's two changes for South Africa. There's no Vernon Philander or Chris Morris, which means Duanne Olivier and Theunis de Bruyn are in. Both Philander and Morris suffered back spasms this morning. How big a loss will that be?
Graeme Smith
Ex-South Africa captain on BBC Test Match Special
At the moment it seems like win the toss, bat first and win the game. South Africa have got it all to play for. They have to stick in for the next few days.
Blue skies above Old Trafford as Joe Root launches the coin - terrible technique, throwing it sidewards - but never mind, he's won! England will have a bat first.

BBC Sport (nearly) at Old Trafford
Trams to Old Trafford are jam-packed, cricket fans stuffed in like sardines in a tin. Two stops away at Dane Road there's not enough room for everyone to get on.
Say it quietly, but there's no rain on that forecast... windy, though.

Ross Legg: Has a player ever had an end/stand named after them whilst still playing at that venue at highest level?
Anyone cleverer than me know the answer to this?
I do hope this means Anderson will start bowling from that end. Otherwise it's going to be a bit confusing for the poor announcer.
There's already been a ceremony this morning at Old Trafford as they honour England's leading Test wicket-taker.
The Pavilion End at Old Trafford will be renamed The James Anderson End at the club where Anderson has played throughout his career.
"To have this happen when I'm still playing and potentially bowling from that end is a bit surreal," he added.
"It is something that usually happens when people have stopped playing or are further down the line. It is just an amazing honour."
And then from this morning. Blue skies!
Here's the scene from yesterday. Yeah. Lovely weather for ducks...
Morning! You well? The sun is trying its very best to come out over Old Trafford, although it's still a bit grey. Suitably Mancunian weather. And I say that as someone who has lived here for seven years.
Anyway. Welcome to coverage of this fourth Test. Predictions?
This series has had more ups and downs than my stomach on a rollercoaster.
England have won convincingly, lost ridiculously and then won emphatically all over again. They haven't won a Test series at home to South Africa since 1998.
So, as we head to Old Trafford for the fourth and final match, will there be more of this?
Or are we heading back to this?
