  1. Close of play - WI 5-0published at 18:23 British Summer Time 28 August 2017

    Target 322

Replays show it would've been judged to have hit Brathwaite outside the line.

Good, calm heads from England not to waste a review on it.

Brathwaite and Powell have survived. The tourists need 317 more runs to win, England need 10 wickets.

England's day. And what a day of Test cricket it's been.

That was a great over. They were wise not to ask for the review. The ball hit him outside the line. It shows how tricky it is to bat against spin with the new ball.

  3. WI 5-0published at 6 overs

How is that?! Huge appeal as Moeen skids it on with the arm, Brathwaite plays all around it and it clatters the pads.

Big appeal - given not out. Do they go for it? It looked just outside the line.

No. England walk off. Plenty of encouragement for Moeen tomorrow, though. Top over.

  4. WI 5-0published at 5.5 overs

More turn but Brathwaite equal to it.

Final ball of the day to come - everyone around the bat.

  5. WI 5-0published at 5.4 overs

Jeez! Brathwaite goes to tuck one round his legs but almost hits it straight to Cook at leg slip!

    It falls narrowly short.

  6. WI 5-0published at 5.3 overs

Too short from Moeen, allowing Powell to get off strike with a single.

  7. WI 4-0published at 5.2 overs

Solid enough defence, decent length from Moeen.

  8. WI 4-0published at 5.1 overs

Moeen to the left-hander - the first really bites, squares up Powell and thwacks the pads.

Bairstow goes up for it, but that was bouncing over. Real pressure.

It wouldn't surprise me if Moeen picked one up now. There's turn on this pitch. Sometimes the harder ball grips more. I predict a wicket.

It will be Moeen to bowl the final over of the day.

    We'll go ball by ball...

  11. WI 4-0published at 5 overs

    Target 322

That lbw shout would indeed have been umpire's call, good choice not to review.

Brathwaite shaky but surviving. Just. He tries to leave one but it clips the edge and flies into the turf and straight to Joe Root in the slips. Could easily have chopped on there.

Anderson's final ball of the day...no big finish as Brathwaite defends it into the off-side for no run.

Root wanted to review that but he's gone on the word of his bowler. Jimmy wasn't 100% happy with it.

  13. WI 4-0published at 4.2 overs

Anderson swings one into Brathwaite, it's lively and rattles into the pads.

Root looks keen but the bowler isn't so sure - looks from in front that it was sliding down leg.

Probably umpire's call at best and wise not to review.

  14. WI 4-0published at 4 overs

    Brathwaite 4, Powell 0

Broad still struggling for rhythm so he goes over the wicket to Powell.

Angles the first across the left-hander - no stroke. Shorter one is left.

Powell flicks and misses at one down leg. Broad looking a bit off - will they give Moeen a go before the close?

Wide outside off and left - 24 balls bowled by England so far and not one would've hit the stumps. Not enough of those in that 'corridor of uncertainty' either.

MD: A 'bold' declaration is one that takes place around tea on day four, not one which demands a run-rate of over three on a day five Leeds pitch!

  16. WI 4-0published at 3 overs

    Target 322

Huge appeal from Headingley as Anderson gets another through Brathwaite's defences and thwacks the pads.

More muted appeal from the England players. Too high, especially with the bounce of the new ball.

    Half-way to the close.

    That is unplayable.

  18. WI 4-0published at 2.5 overs

Anderson still probing but Brathwaite leaving well for now.

The Windies opener jabs down just in time to a straighter, low one.

Oh you beauty! Anderson gets it just right for the first time, going for the inswinger but the ball holds it line as it whistles past off-stump.

You'd have to be brilliant to nick that.

  19. WI 4-0published at 2 overs

    Target 322

Too straight from Broad first up as Brathwaite works it away fine for one.

He goes round the wicket to the left-handed Powell, the first couple carry nicely through to Bairstow. Just outside the channel but honing in on it.

Too wide still from Broad, allowing Powell to leave well alone. A push into off for no run to finish.

Need to make them play at more balls. Just four overs to go in the day.

England have got enough. West Indies won't get another 319 runs from here.
