West Indies should have gone to Shannon Gabriel earlier than they did. They should have tested Moeen with the short ball. Their chance to seize the initiative was when Jonny Bairstow was out.

Holder strays too straight onto the pads and Woakes - seeing it beautifully - guides it fine for four as he closes on a superb 50.

  3. Eng 472-8published at 138.1 overs

    Woakes 44, Broad 14

Poor Shannon. England are cruising two to the beleaguered Gabriel every time and the ball is following him around the field.

Bishoo drifts one towards Broad's off stump - it hits the pads and there is a strangled appeal but nothing doing.

The ball runs down fine as Broad picks up two - replays show it was off an inside edge.

England's lead is up over 300.

Oh dear, Shannon Gabriel really does not want to be out on a cricket field right now.

Broad sweeps one straight to the burly quick on the boundary but he's moving so slowly that the England pair easily scamper back for two.

    Ouch.

Even when Chase took the three quick wickets there was no animation from West Indies in the field. There should have been - they had a great opportunity from there.

Jason Holder returns to the attack - Woakes picks up one off his pads.

Broad then swipes it high into the air but it lands safely as deep point sweeps up and England add two more to the total.

The number 10 taps it to point and takes advantage of Gabriel's sluggish fielding to pick up a second.

Abdullah Hussain: As much as I love Moeen Ali, he's not going to be greatest ever all-rounder while Shakib Al Hasan exists.

In fairness, I think the shout was could Moeen become England's greatest all-rounder?

And Shakib is fantastic but greatest ever has to come down to Sir Garfield Sobers versus Jacques Kallis.

I don't think England will be in a hurry. They are 1-0 up in the series and they've been behind in this game until tea-time on the fourth day. They won't be generous with their declaration.

Broad bends down on one knee to sweep squarish for a single.

Bishoo to Woakes - TV footage shows another uncalled no ball from the leggie. Poor.

Woakes shapes to smack a short ball but has to settle for a clip round his legs for two.

Another single to Woakes before Broad defends the last.

West Indies need one last burst, get two wickets and then maybe, maybe, they can chase the target down.
