In case you missed it, we had about 25 minutes of play before the rain sent the players back to the dressing-room card school.

In that time, England played some handsome strokes...

Showing your workings, and including a reference to a statistical record that is only broken once every 30 years at best, please demonstrate that all declarations made by an England captain are either a) needlessly cautious, or b) irresponsibly reckless, whilst always being c) wrong.

Very, very bleak at Lord's now. The square is fully covered and the groundstaff have retreated to their hut/shed/tent. Those hardy enough to remain in the stands are huddled under umbrellas, though some are still enjoying what look like cocktail sausages. Settle in. We might be a while.

The rain is pretty heavy. Sheets are being laid on the square. It might be a little while before we get some more cricket. Still, that doesn't mean the entertainment stops. If you head over to the TMS Facebook page, you can put your questions to Henry Blofeld, in what is his final Test as a commentator. Face Blowers Live.

So now we have: Stoneman averaging 20.00, Westley averaging 18.62 and Malan averaging 23.63... and all with below 40 averages in FC cricket.

When do England pick the likes of Rory Burns (42.35 avg), Nick Browne (45.96 avg), Liam Livingstone (51.88 avg), Ben Foakes (40.61 avg), Dan Lawrence (42.16) and Joe Clarke (44.36 avg)? All have been better in CC than guys England have been picking and are younger.

People keep saying there are a lack of better options from CC... but there seem quite a few.

Here's the wicket that fell in the 25 minutes or so of play that we had. Could Malan have covered it? It was a pretty good nut.

James Levy: The score is 207-6. At what point will Geoffrey Boycott blame this on "terrible batting"?

That's enough for now. The players head for the pavilion. Well, at least the England batsmen do. The Windies aren't keen to leave.

Looking again, I might have undersold how good a delivery that was from Roach. An inbteween length, so Malan couldn't really go forward or back. In the end, the left-hander was squared up. Jonny Bairstow is the new man, met with a Roach bumper. It's raining, too.

Very similar ball to the one Alastair Cook got. No foot movement but a good delivery and one of those ones from round the wicket that angled up. England are getting further and further into trouble. Game on.
