My friend once bought an expensive bottle of wine from Harrods for a proposal picnic with his girlfriend. He didn't have a corkscrew so tried the shoe trick, promptly smashing the bottle against a tree and covering himself in wine. She said yes though. So swings and roundabouts.

Never mind the trousers. Have you got a corkscrew you can lend to Matt?

Also, do you hit the shoe heel first or sole first? And do you leave your foot in it?

I'm not for one second having it that you can open a bottle of wine with only your shoe and a wall.

Try the shoe trick: put the wine bottle in your shoe, bottom first then repeatedly bang the heel of your shoe against a wall/tree. Amazingly it works! Cheers, and I'll take the wine to go at my desk ta!

Hows about cheeseboard and chutney with a chorizo and sun dried tomato kicker? Plus 19 West Indies wickets in the day at Edgbaston, an absolute cracker!

Come on, let's make this happen. If you're at Lord's and have a corkscrew, can you help a brother out? Can we get a picture too, please?

Ruth Brooksbank: Joe bats at no 4 for England, what's the probability of him coming into bat with only 20 runs on the board?

I'm starting to think that the live text is more fun when there's not actually any cricket to talk about. We get more covered without action getting in the way.

Ah, bad news. Just as the umpires were about to inspect, the rain returned. The covers have been returned to the square and spectators are once again taking shelter under umbrellas.
