England captain Eoin Morgan on TMS: "There's potentially a little bit of rain around, so hopefully it will easier if we know what to chase. Conditions are going to be a little bit tough.

"West Indies are a strong side; they have got a lot of experience with guys who have played franchise cricket around the world. It's a great opportunity for our bowlers."

After a mammoth run of Test cricket, let's remind ourselves of England's T20 fortunes earlier this summer.

They faced South Africa in a three-match series with an experimental squad impressing by winning 2-1.

England thrashed South Africa in the first match by nine wickets, Jonny Bairstow hitting 60 not out before the tourists won a tighter second match during which Jason Roy was given out obstructing the field.

That set up a series decider at Cardiff and impressive performances from Dawid Malan (78) and Tom Curran gave England a well-deserved series win.

So West Indies have the big guns back for this one.

What do you think about it? Is it a good thing that Gayle and co are returning?

And how worried should England be about Chris Gayle? Is he still the most fearsome batsman in limited-overs cricket?

There has been a bit of sympathy and a feeling of lovableness directed towards the West Indies team at times this summer.

I'm not sure that's quite the same when Marlon Samuels is in the side...

  6. 'It's a good vibe'published at 18:14 British Summer Time 16 September 2017

West Indies captain Carlos Brathwaite: "We would have probably bowled but we're going to take the challenge head on. Having all the senior players in the dressing room, it's a good vibe. We need to express ourselves and have fun.

"It's not ideal flying in and playing straight away. But we fly out for franchise leagues and play day after so it's similar."

On opener Evin Lewis: "There's no better person to learn from than Chris Gayle. He's been smashing it in the T20 leagues. He's a joy to be around."

England captain Eoin Morgan: "Dawid Malan misses out. It's a tough decision but it's another batter in the waiting room for us. Jonny Bairstow has played that role for a long time so he gets the nod. It breeds a lot of competition in the squad."

  10. No Stokes v Brathwaite part IIpublished at 18:03 British Summer Time 16 September 2017

But, as you're probably aware, one player who won't be playing for England is Ben Stokes.

That means there will be no Stokes v Brathwaite part II.

The England all-rounder has been controversially rested for this match at his home ground.

England say it was a "collective decision" and Stokes needs "a break" but Durham are not impressed with chairman Sir Ian Botham calling it "kick in the teeth".

Hello there. Welcome along to our coverage of this one-off T20 between England and West Indies.

After a surprisingly entertaining Test series it's time for the short stuff.

The last time these sides met in this format was in the World Twenty20 final when Carlos Brathwaite hit four consecutive sixes off Ben Stokes' final over to take the title.

Brathwaite, Chris Gayle, Marlon Samuels and Kieron Pollard are all up in Durham for this one.

    Let the rematch commence...

But like all of the best bouts there is a rematch.

The big stars are back in town for the visitors.

    This should be fun.
