England captain Eoin Morgan: "I thought we came back really well, it didn't take us long to adapt to conditions with the slower balls and variations, leaving us with a relatively not-too-hard target to chase down. Joe Root doesn't drop many catches and you've just got to try to create more chances. The bowling unit put in a really good benchmark for the start of the series.
"Jonny Bairstow was outstanding and it was a superb way to begin the series. After a performance like that, being there at the end showed his hunger."

West Indies are lacking a bit of craftmanship in their batting - we heard about how many twos were scored in the England innings, and West Indies don't really have that. Shai Hope has shown he's got some of that skill, but England have got lots of players who can do that like Bairstow and Root.
West Indies captain Jason Holder: "We were about 30 or 40 runs short and we didn't bowl as well as I thought we should. We were inconistent with our line and length.
"From a batting perspective, if we're not getting boundaries then we need to rotate the strike, we got stuck. We need to tighten up a bit, we lost wickets at crucial stages. We let ourselves down with the ball, too inconsistent and they scored too freely.
"There's a lot of work to be done but the series is not over, it's just one game."

West Indies are ninth in the world ODI rankings for a reason. They've got some of their major players back like Gayle and Samuels, but they've got to perform in West Indies colours.
England’s Joe Root speaking to TMS: "I thought we played well throughout, apart from the blip at the start, where a wally dropped a catch. But we held our composure and nerve. I thought we were excellent, adapted to the conditions quickly and were ruthless.
“Jonny was outstanding, it was nice to be out there and contribute with him. He’s had to wait for his opportunity because we are so strong in our batting in ODI cricket, which is exciting. But it shows the level of his ability to come in and take his chance after such a long time waiting. He’s been fantastic in red ball cricket and it’s great to see him come and do this.
“He’s got a big smile on his face and I’m sure we will hear about these runs for a long time. We are all really pleased for him.”

I have just watched a replay of Bairstow reaching his century. A Superman pose as he ran through for the third, a lot of aggressive shouting, followed by acknowledgment of the dressing room, then a big sigh of relief as he looked to the heavens. All the emotions displayed.

Unbelievable from Bairstow, he's become one of my favourite England players as he's really had to graft for this opportunity in the one-day side. When the ball was there to be put away he put it away, but when it wasn't he maneuvered the ball with excellent timing.

Jason Mohammed has had a bit of a torrid time in the field today.
Here's his blunder from earlier in this innings:

A slow, skiddy delivery from Williams outside off and Bairstow squeezes it out to the third man boundary for four, Jason Mohammed with some schoolboy fielding. A further single takes him to 96. Stokes scampers through for a single.
Right then, a four to reach Bairstow's 100? Ohhhh, heart in the mouth moment as he plays a ramp shot which falls short of third man. He was a little worried there for a second.
Stokes advances down the wicket and swats a six down to the long-off boundary!
Six more needed to win, Bairstow needs three for 100. The most drama we have had in this innings!

The Test side has those gaps at two, three and five, but for the one-day side you can think of Duckett, Roy, Vince and Billings who aren't in contention here. it just shows you what an embarrassment of riches that England have in one-day cricket that it's taken Jonny Bairstow so long to get into this side.

It doesn't feel like it's going to be a fingernail-biting climax. West Indies haven't been up to it, and Jonny Bairstow is going to get the headlines.

Jonny Bairstow has seen a few of his team-mates come and go, but is still there and closing in on his century. Ben Stokes joins him and is off the mark with a slice through gully.
A slower ball from Williams is picked up Bairstow who gently pushes it to mid-off for a single. That brings Stokes back on strike and that's four very easy runs. A full-toss and the England all-rounder, off the toe end of the bat, with a firm-handed punch down the ground.
